Is there a way to grow a child? These “tricks” must be known

About the growth of children, it has always been the focus of discussion among parents~

Especially now that the weather is getting warmer, mothers can’t help but get anxious when they see babies born in the same month as their children in the community, but the height difference is obvious.

Actually, there are individual differences in the height of children. As long as the height of the baby is within the normal range, there is no problem.

Then why are there differences in height between children? Is there a clear standard? Let’s talk about these issues together~

01

Why do children differ in height?

To know if a child’s height is normal, or to judge whether a child’s height is within the normal range compared with peers, it is necessary to compare the child’s height with that of normal healthy children of the same age and gender height for comparison.

This is a more standard data comparison of normal height. Parents can refer to the “China’s Growth and Development Reference Standards for Children Under 7” of the Ministry of Health of our country and the growth and development curves of the World Health Organization (WHO).

02

Is there a height standard for children of all ages?

According to the Chinese Ministry of Health “China’s Growth and Development Reference Standards for Children Under 7 Years of Age”, the height data of children of different ages are as follows:

0-5 baby girl height development curve

0-5 baby boy height development curve

Height Growth Chart View Instructions:

The frequency of height measurement of children is every half a month for ages 0-6 months, and regular monitoring every 3 months for ages 7-24 months.

If it is lower than the curve 3rd, it means that children whose growth and development are lower than 97% of the population may have stunted growth; if it is higher than the 97th curve, it means that the growth and development are higher than 97% of the children in the population. , there may be a risk of overgrowth.

The middle curve 50th represents the average value; the 15th and 85th curves represent different levels of the normal curve.

The normal value is the range from 3rd to 97th. As long as the child’s growth curve and the average curve are roughly on the same horizontal line, it is normal, no need to worry~

03

How can I help my child grow taller?

If you want your child to grow up well, parents can focus on four aspects: diet, exercise, sleep, and emotions.

Balanced Nutrition

You can choose protein-rich foods (lean meat, shellfish, animal liver, fish and shrimp, eggs, milk), calcium and phosphorus-rich foods (milk, soy products), Zinc-rich foods (fish, egg yolks, peanuts, walnuts, sesame nuts, etc.), as well as vitamin-rich vegetables and fruits.

・ Proper exercise

Appropriate exercise can promote the development of children’s bones, muscles, joints and ligaments, but pay attention to the combination of work and rest. You can choose rope skipping, swimming, jogging, ball games, pull-ups, aerobics and other sports.

・ Get enough sleep

Try to let your baby develop a good habit of going to bed early and getting up early, going to bed before 8.30 and going to bed before 9 every day.

In general, children aged 3 to 6 need 10 to 12 hours of sleep per day, elementary school students 10 hours, middle school students 9 to 10 hours, and high school students 8 to 9 hours.

Good mood

Enough sleep, patient companionship, and communication can help keep your child’s mood stable. If the child is happy, the height growth will naturally be much faster~
