Recently, Hangzhou aid doctor Lu Hongjun led the urology surgeon of Aksu People’s Hospital Completed a difficult case of “Laparoscopic Right Nephrectomy” to help patients regain their health.

The patient Mr. Ai (pseudonym), who lives in Karatal Town, Aksu City, is 62 years old this year. During the physical examination at Aksu City People’s Hospital, it was found that the right kidney occupies a space. The deputy director of surgery, Lu Hongjun, and the doctors in the department, after consultation, determined that it was a tumor with a diameter of 8 cm. After repeated consultations, it was decided to perform “radical nephrectomy for the right kidney” for the patient. This type of operation is inexperienced in the urology department of the hospital, because the tumor tissue around the kidney of the patient needs to be removed, and the treatment is especially critical in the kidney wall, where the blood vessels are densely packed. To handle it cleanly, it not only requires the doctor to be familiar with the distribution of blood vessels around the kidney, but also to have skilled surgical techniques. When encountering such cases in the past, it was generally recommended that patients be transferred to higher-level hospitals for diagnosis and treatment, but because of the arrival of doctors from Hangzhou who aided Xinjiang, it was possible to perform this type of surgery.

On the morning of February 24, Lu Hongjun cooperated with Wu Wanzhong, director of the Department of Urology. After two and a half hours of surgery, the patient’s right kidney tumor and some adjacent renal tissue were completely removed. The operation was very successful. Lu Hongjun said that with targeted drug treatment after surgery, patients are expected to regain their health.

It is understood that since Lu Hongjun returned to his post in Xinjiang after the Spring Festival, he has carried out a number of tumor resections including gastric cancer, rectal cancer, kidney cancer, etc., which not only helped Aksu’s patients regain health and high-density cancer. The operation also allows the hospital’s urologists to quickly accumulate clinical experience, laying a solid foundation for local doctors to complete such operations independently, helping Aksu People’s Hospital to expand the field of diagnosis and treatment and improve the medical level.
