The summer rain stopped and the air was clear. Walking into Nianhe Village, I suddenly felt my eyes light up and I felt relaxed and happy!

This small village in Hunan, surrounded by green hills, is located in Sanjian Town, Lengshuijiang City, Loudi, Hunan Province. The Qiuxi River passes through the village, quietly The water plants sway in the flowing clear water, and the Camellia Stream behind the village is surrounded by smoke.

There is a large paddy field by the river. Just after the “double grab”, the newly planted seedlings dripped lightly, and the fragrance of the soil penetrated into the nose. The village road is a cement road, the road is clean, and there is no garbage and debris in sight, and there is no betel nut slag common in Hunan.

“Although I’m not a Nianhe native, I like the current Nianhe very much.” Su Huajie, a teacher at Sanjian Central School in Lengshuijiang City, told reporters that thanks to the improvement of the rural living environment in recent years, Nianhe has The grass is getting cleaner and cleaner. “This kind of sticky grass is worthy of the provincial scenic spot of Camellia Creek.”

This was not the case with the previous Nianhe. Nianhe people have a deep memory of the situation in the village surrounded by garbage.

Wen Ruiqing is a member of the seventh group of Nianhe Village and lives by the Qiuxi River. “In the past, the river was full of rubbish, and I couldn’t even stretch my legs. Every time the river swelled, I would cry once.” Why? Her family’s two acres of land are by the river. When the river rises, the garbage accumulated by the river and the sundries from the upstream float to her fields in piles. “It’s a thick layer on the grass. I have to carry it for a few days before I can clean it.” Although two acres of rice were planted, Wen Ruiqing often had to pay for rice to eat.

“In the past few years, the changes have been earth-shaking, and the garbage in the river is decreasing day by day. Now, you just stare at the river for a long time, and it is difficult to find a piece of it.” Wen Ruiqing said. There is less rubbish, and more fish and shrimp in the river. People often come here to fish, “some people have caught four or five catties of carp.”

Li Yanxia has been married to Nianhe for 26 years. She recalled: “In the past, garbage was piled up in a mess. Every family dug a pool at the door. When the weather was good, I turned it over, dried the garbage, and burned it.” Because every household burns garbage, there is always an unpleasant smell in the air.

“In the past, chickens and ducks of the villagers were used to free-range farming. Chicken and duck dung was everywhere, and they would step on them when they lifted their feet. Now the chickens and ducks are kept in captivity, which is much cleaner. Not only that, the village has also realized garbage Classification.” Chen Dianchu, Secretary of the Party Branch of Nianhe Village, introduced.

The reporter saw that there were two gray-black trash cans in front of the villagers’ houses, one for recyclable garbage and the other for non-recyclable garbage.

“Some villagers also prepared plastic buckets for them to put coal ash, melon seed shells, peanut shells, and betel nut slag. Look, these can be put directly into the ground to increase fertility.” Chen Dian At the beginning, according to the principle of “household classification, village collection, town transfer, and city treatment”, the garbage in the village is first classified by the farmers themselves, and then the cleaners come to the door to collect them, send them to the village garbage sorting center, and then classify and transfer them by the town. Send it to the market distribution center, and it will be handled by a professional environmental protection company.

“How much will this cost? Is it stressful?” the reporter asked.

“Not much.” Chen Dianchu told reporters that the funding for waste sorting adopts the method of “the government invests a little, the villagers raise a little, the villagers save a little, and the masses contribute a little”, and the total investment is an annual 80,000 yuan, financial subsidies of 60,000 yuan, and the village only needs to raise 20,000 yuan by itself.

On the way, the reporter met Liu Yu’e, a cleaner. She carried the bucket and the iron clip, and when she saw very small garbage, she also clipped it and put it into the bucket.

“How many bins of garbage can I pick up every day now?”

“There is not a lot of garbage now.” Liu Yu’e said.

Chen Yuanxiang, a “reconstruction specialist” in charge of environmental sanitation in Nianhe Village, told reporters: “It is difficult to start garbage sorting, and it is natural to develop a habit.” At the beginning, some villagers did not understand and did not understand garbage sorting. Cooperate. The two village committees thought of a lot of methods, and made village regulations and contracts. They also asked party members and the village team leader to take the lead, each of them packaged 5 to 7 households, and urged everyone to do a good job in the hygiene of the front and back of the house. Now, the villagers have not only developed the habit of sorting garbage, but many people also take the initiative to maintain the hygiene of the village. For example, when they go out for a walk and see weeds, they will tear them off; set it up.

The sticky grass is just a microcosm of the urban and rural environmental improvement in Lengshuijiang City. Now, the city’s 130 village-level garbage sorting centers have all been put into collection and transportation, with a coverage rate of 100%.
