COVID-19 situation in Guangdong Province
May 17, 0-24:00,1 new case of local asymptomatic infection in the province, Foshan report. 7 new cases were discharged (5 imported from abroad), and 157 cases are currently in hospital (19 imported from abroad); 20 new cases of asymptomatic infection were released from medical observation (17 imported from abroad), and asymptomatic infections are still under medical observation 176 cases (130 cases imported from abroad).
2 newly imported confirmed cases in the province (1 of which was confirmed by asymptomatic infection), and 1 was reported in Guangzhou, from Japan; Foshan reported 1 case from Bolivia. Newly imported asymptomatic infections13 cases, 6 cases were reported in Guangzhou, 2 cases were from Malaysia, 2 cases were from Kenya, and the remaining 2 cases were from Singapore and Congo (DRC) respectively; Shenzhen reported 5 cases, Zhanjiang reported 1 case, all from Hong Kong, China; Foshan reported 1 case, from Sudan.
As of 24:00 on May 17, the province has reported a total of 14,905 positive cases of new coronary pneumonia (9,448 imported from abroad), of which confirmed cases 7,268 cases (3,878 imported from abroad) and 7,637 asymptomatic infections (5,570 imported from abroad).
