Since then, he has forged a deep friendship with Xu Feng. .
In the early spring of this year, the Chinese government decided to send a Chinese medicine anti-epidemic expert team and medical team to Cambodia. The team has gone through three stages: advance group, expert group, and medical team. Xu Feng is also the only member who participated in the whole process.
This time in Cambodia, Xu Feng and Hu Ting changed positions. The latter is currently working in the Cambodian National Traditional Medicine Research Center and enthusiastically introduced the local medical and health care, medicinal material supply, and drug production to the TCM team. and other relevant information, and actively promote Chinese doctors to adapt to the local medical environment as soon as possible.
Xu Feng was born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine. His grandfather was Wang Mianzhi, the founder of Chinese medicine and the first master of Chinese medicine. From a young age, the adults in the family recite square songs, make medicines, and go out to treat the neighbors. The earliest understanding of Cambodia came from Prince Sihanouk, who was often mentioned by the elders of the family. When I was at the age of reading, I had a new understanding of Cambodia, a strange and friendly country, after reading “The Story of Chenla Customs”. From this work experience, he has a more profound experience of China-Cambodia friendship.
During the period of aid to Cambodia, the expert group established the first inter-governmental TCM clinic in a Cambodian public hospital, the TCM Department of Kosma China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital. In the past two months, the number of TCM clinics has exceeded 2,000. “The outpatient department of traditional Chinese medicine has become a popular spot in the hearts of all Cambodian friends who like traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese.” Xu Feng said that many Cambodian medical students studying in China have become good friends of traditional Chinese medicine, and Cambodian students studying Chinese are still there We are here for trainee training and experience the Chinese environment. The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine has become an important platform for displaying the culture of traditional Chinese medicine.
Xu Feng has been responsible for the international cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine in China for a long time. During his ten years of work in Xiyuan Hospital, he organized and undertaken 54 foreign aid training courses of the Ministry of Commerce, with students from 73 countries along the “Belt and Road”. This time, as the backbone of foreign language and management, I was dispatched to Cambodia. In the team, I was responsible for team building and management, as well as external communication with the Cambodian Ministry of Health, major hospitals in Cambodia, and local associations. The Cambodian Cambodian Chinese General Council and other Chinese associations have established good relations. The series of lectures on Chinese medicine popularization held by the expert group for local Chinese schools has become an important window for Cambodian young people to learn Chinese medicine and understand China.
“I remember Prime Minister Hun Sen’s inspection on the day of the opening of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and he expressed the hope that we will truly retain the technology of traditional Chinese medicine. We also realized that in order for traditional Chinese medicine to truly serve the Cambodian people for a long time, it is necessary to cultivate more Local talents.” Xu Feng said that the TCM expert group has set up a targeted “Traditional Chinese Medicine Appropriate Technology Training Course” based on a long-term perspective. More than 100 Cambodian doctors and nurses participated in the 30-day training. The basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine, diagnosis and treatment methods, and traditional Chinese medicine, the most important thing is to see the important role played by the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the development of China’s medical and health system. As a member of the team, Xu Feng also felt a full “sense of gain”.
Born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine, Xu Feng did not “follow the rules” to study medicine when he was young, but felt the breadth and depth of traditional Chinese medicine culture in the background of the liberal arts of the university. “There are old people, young people and young people.” This aid to Cambodia, his family’s reluctance and the call of mission also gave him a deeper understanding of “family and country feelings”.
“From Bachelor of Arts, Master of Philosophy, to Doctor of Medicine, I have experienced a series of changes in my interests in life. This experience of assisting Cambodia has also strengthened my professional ideals. The promotion of traditional Chinese medicine to the whole world.” Xu Feng said. (end)
