Changjiang Daily Wuhan Client, February 27th (Correspondent Pei Nishang)“My husband spent more than 1,000 yuan a month to buy a bunch of Bracelet, I was angry but quarreled with him. As a result, at five o’clock in the morning the next day, my eyes started to hurt and I was very uncomfortable. When I went to the hospital for examination, I found that it was actually glaucoma.” On February 26, he talked about himself After the onset of the disease, Ms. Huang was still sulking.
Ms. Huang, 59, lives in Nanhu, Wuchang. In the past month, her husband has become obsessed with online shopping. Every day, he is either watching live broadcasts or placing orders to buy things. He bought a bunch of bracelets of various materials and went home. On February 24, Ms. Huang had a big fight with her husband. As a result, the next day, the pain in his right eye became very uncomfortable. So, she hurried to Aier Eye Hospital affiliated to Wuhan University.
After examination, Aunt Huang’s right eye pressure was increased, which was about 2 times of normal intraocular pressure, and her visual acuity was only 0.4. She was diagnosed as acute angle-closure glaucoma attack.
Wu Zuohong, director of the Department of Glaucoma, Aier Eye Hospital Affiliated to Wuhan University, said that fortunately, the patient was treated in a timely manner. After anterior chamber puncture and discharge, the intraocular pressure can be controlled with drugs and laser therapy can be assisted.
“The most direct manifestation of glaucoma after the onset of glaucoma is increased intraocular pressure, which will induce damage to the optic nerve, and once it occurs, it is difficult to recover.” Director Wu Zuohong said that women are a high-risk group for glaucoma, especially 40-year-olds above women. According to clinical data, the ratio of male to female glaucoma is basically 1:3. In female patients, the eyeball is relatively small and the front may be slightly crowded, so angle-closure glaucoma is more likely to occur.
Director Wu Zuohong reminded that 70% to 80% of acute attacks of primary angle-closure glaucoma are related to emotional changes. He suggested that glaucoma patients should maintain a peaceful mood and regular daily life, relax their mood, and avoid excessive emotional fluctuations, anger, and anxiety. In addition, people with a family history of high myopia, diabetes, hypertension and glaucoma should pay attention to regular inspection of intraocular pressure, fundus, and even visual field.
