The new hospital area was unveiled. The community hospital where Professor Wang Hua sank was built at the end of April this year. The community’s 100,000 residents work with basic medical and public health services. The former Hanjiadun Street Community Health Service Center was built downstairs for residents, with only 1,500 square meters, and the departments were unable to perform various services, and the medical area and environment were seriously disproportionate to the needs of residents.
The old medical environment and the lack of special diagnosis and treatment services make the surrounding people love to go to large hospitals for medical treatment. In August 2020, the city promoted the deployment of the “Public Health System to Make Up the Shortcomings” project. Pan Lingzhuang, head of the grass-roots health and aging health department of the Qiaokou District Health and Health Bureau, took the initiative to list the reconstruction and expansion of this community hospital as a key project of his own.
On the wall of the office on the 4th floor of Qiaokou District Health and Health Bureau, the construction progress table of the new campus of the Hanjiadun Street Community Health Service Center is prominently hung. “The working time of each step on this ‘battle map’ is accurate to the day, and the red flag will be planted wherever the step is advanced. There is only one goal: to build a high-quality community hospital for 100,000 residents.”
The hospital was relocated 2.2 kilometers to the north, and it was located on Nanniwan Avenue with more convenient transportation, which is convenient for residents of 11 surrounding communities to seek medical treatment. The area of the center has increased by 3.5 times, and the medical environment has been comprehensively updated and optimized.
The hardware condition is good, the software also has to keep up. Pan Lingzhuang helped the center to introduce well-known experts, and invited famous doctors such as Wang Daowen, director of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of Tongji Hospital, Qi Xiaotian, former director of the Rehabilitation Department of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Liu Zhengxiang, a doctoral supervisor of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of Tongji Hospital, into the center. Together with the person in charge of the hospital, he formulated a characteristic service goal for the hospital – to create a specialty of traditional Chinese medicine, and to promote the appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital invited Professor Wang Hua and his team to highlight the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine in the hospital.

Now, 72-year-old Lv Wenbing, a resident of Zhongmin Changqingli Community, is a “hardcore fan” of this community hospital. He said: “Famous doctors and experts come to see a doctor regularly. I can adjust my stomach and sleep at the door of my house. The community hospital will become bigger and stronger, and it will be more convenient for us ordinary people to see a doctor at the door of my house.”
