Why do some people drink every day but their health is good?

This is a typical example of using a single case to refute a general conclusion, which is illogical. Physical condition is related to genetic factors, nutritional status, physical activity, even gender and race, and there are obvious individual differences in alcohol metabolism. However, alcohol has long been recognized by the World Health Organization as a class 1 carcinogen, that is, substances with conclusive evidence and a clear relationship with cancer, we had better avoid them.

Maybe this subverts our traditional concept of “drinking in moderation is good for health”, but if the harm of long-term excessive drinking is indeed great, it can cause more than 200 kinds of diseases and injuries, damage Various systems, such as digestive system, cardiovascular system, nervous system, immune system [1]; alcohol consumption and common oral, laryngeal, esophageal, breast, colorectal, liver, esophageal, gastric and pancreatic cancers, etc. are directly related. The active and beneficial ingredients in red wine and white wine are insignificant in the face of the harm of alcohol.

More direct evidence comes from the following. Population statistics, the results of large epidemiological studies show that the more people drink, the higher the probability of cancer. Animal experiments: For example, if alcohol is added to the drinking water of mice for a long time, the probability of cancer in mice will increase significantly. The latest research shows that 5.5% of cancers and 5.8% of cancer deaths worldwide are caused by alcohol. A study from the BMJ (British Medical Journal) found that even small amounts of alcohol increase the risk of cancer. Therefore, the best option is to not drink alcohol at all. We recommend not drinking if you can, and drinking less if you can.

The Spring Festival is approaching, if it is difficult to avoid a drink during the gathering, you can follow the recommendations of the Chinese Residents Dietary Guidelines[2], such as drinking alcohol should be limited.
