Last month, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine announced the list of candidates for the latest Qihuang Scholars Support Project. Professor Lin Dingkun, director of the Department of Orthopedics of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, became one of the four candidates in Guangdong. Lin Dingkun continued to be busy in the consultation room, patiently answering questions and eliminating pain for patients. He still appeared in popular science videos produced by the team from time to time, promoting the knowledge of spinal health protection and demonstrating maintenance methods. Adhering to the tradition of “medicine and martial arts” of Lingnan orthopaedic surgeons, he is not only a “sacred hand” in orthopedics, but also a “martial arts master” who has learned from the martial arts; he has many unique “secret skills” and innovations in diagnosis and treatment. The improved technique can also hold a lancet under a shadowless lamp; in terms of health care, the original “Lin’s Bodybuilding Eight Duan Gong” is also widely popular. In Lin Dingkun’s view, traditional Chinese medicine is life, and Lingnan Orthopedics and Traumatology is deeply rooted in the open, inclusive, peaceful and pragmatic Cantonese culture.
