CNR Shanghai, May 8 (Reporter Yang Jing Guo Zhendan) On May 8, Shanghai held the 177th Shanghai New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Press Conference. At the meeting, Zhao Dandan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, introduced the relevant situation of epidemic prevention and control in Shanghai.
On May 7, Shanghai added 215 new confirmed cases of local new coronary pneumonia and 3,760 asymptomatic infections. Of the 215 local confirmed cases, 80 were found in closed-loop isolation and control, and 135 were asymptomatic infected patients and turned into confirmed cases. Among the 3760 local asymptomatic infections, 3749 were found in closed-loop isolation and control, and 11 were found in the screening of relevant risk personnel. Among the 11 cases of positive infection found in the screening of relevant risk personnel, 4 cases were found in the screening of key populations, 1 case was found in the screening in the control area, and 6 cases were found in the screening in the prevention area.
As of 24:00 on May 7, 412 severe patients and 84 critically ill patients had been treated in designated medical institutions in Shanghai.
On May 7, 8 new local deaths were reported in Shanghai, with an average age of 80.6 years. Among the 8 deaths, 1 had been vaccinated against the new crown vaccine, and the rest were not vaccinated against the new crown vaccine. The immediate cause of death was the underlying disease or malignant tumor.
On May 7, 941 local confirmed cases in the city were discharged from hospital, and 9,839 cases of asymptomatic infections were released from centralized isolation and medical observation. They will return to their places of residence for health monitoring.
As of 9:00 a.m. on May 8, a total of 779,404 close contacts in Shanghai have been investigated for this round of epidemic in Shanghai, all of which have been put under control.
