Good complexion from rubbing

The “motivation tonic” in Lao Jin’s mouth refers to exercise. As soon as he opened his eyes every morning, his “movement supplement” began. The first step is to rub your face. After rubbing the palms of your hands to generate heat, rub them on your face, from the inside to the outside, from the bottom to the top 30 times. The second step is to rub the ears. Rub your ears up and down with your palms 30 times. The third step is to rub your feet. With the soles of the feet facing each other, rub the soles of the feet with the thumbs, 86 times on each side. The blood is smooth, and the natural complexion is ruddy. No wonder Jin Lao has a childish appearance to this day.

Elder Jin’s health is not good. He was born in poverty, and when he was 14 years old, his father sent him to be an apprentice in Fuyou Yaozhuang in Beijing. After three years of apprenticeship, Jin Shiyuan had to do all kinds of dirty work. Recognize Douzi, pack medicine bag, smash medicine, weigh medicine, stir medicine, take care of master’s daily life, work at least 12 hours a day. In the evening, I had to stay up late to read medicine books, memorize soup songs and four hundred flavors, and once suffered from neurasthenia due to excessive exertion. “At that time, there was basically no maintenance. When I went out to run around the country, and wherever I went to eat, there were times when I was hungry for a long time.” When he retired from teaching at the age of 81, he still refused to give up. In recent years, he has been accepting apprentices, teaching, and often running around. Wherever he needs to cheer for the cause of traditional Chinese medicine, he is there.

Health care is not complicated, the road is simple

Many people only know that Jin Shiyuan is an expert in traditional Chinese medicine, but they do not know that he is also a master of apricot forest. Jin Shiyuan studied medicine in his early years. He heard the classes of four famous doctors in Beijing, Xiao Longyou, Shi Jinmo, Wang Fengchun and Kong Bohua at the Peking Chinese Medicine Workshop. In 1957, the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau organized the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Qualification Examination”. Jin Shiyuan achieved excellent results and became a licensed Chinese medicine practitioner. Over the years, he has cured tens of thousands of patients.

Jin always said that medicine does not divide. His health preservation method seems simple, but in fact, it shows the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine everywhere. “The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine” says: “In ancient times, those who knew, the law was yin and yang, the number of techniques was in harmony, the diet was regular, the daily life was regular, and he did not work rashly, so he was able to combine body and spirit, and to end his life. , One hundred years old is gone.” Among them, “harmony with the number of techniques” refers to mastering the techniques of maintaining health and fitness.

Elder Jin wakes up at 6:30 every morning and goes to bed at 9:30 every night. He insists on massage and exercise all year round. He advocates no medicine for health preservation, five grains and miscellaneous grains, which can be said to have a healthy diet, which is also in line with the exposition of the “Huangdi Neijing”: “Poisons attack evil, five grains are nourishing, five fruits are helpful, five animals are beneficial, and five vegetables are supplementary.” For those who are used to overcome disease and evil, in life, they should still rely on the five grains to nourish the spleen. It should be noted that the spleen is the foundation of the day after tomorrow. Jin Lao uses practice to tell us that good life is worse than good habits, regular life, simple diet, plus regular exercise, health and longevity is not an extravagant hope.
