The tree is located in front of the Xiangyuan Gate in the south of Yuyan Academy in Luogang Xiangxue Park. Yuyan Academy, also known as Luofeng Temple, was built in the Song Dynasty. It is the reading and lecturing site of Zhong Yuyan, a scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty. It is one of the 12 famous ancient academies in Guangzhou history. From the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the sound of books is full of life here, and the context is endless. The ancient trees and the academy go hand in hand. Over the past 100 years, they have witnessed the visits of many literati and elegant scholars, which have also added lush greenery to the academy.
