The power of traditional Chinese medicine in the makeshift hospital

When the Shanghai epidemic broke out suddenly, the hospital notified that it would organize a medical team to assist Shanghai to go to Shanghai. When I saw the news, I immediately signed up to participate. On April 3, after receiving the notification from the hospital, I embarked on the journey in the afternoon. Thanks to the trust of the hospital, the collaboration of colleagues, the support of the family and the careful preparation of the lover.

At 2:30 a.m. on April 4th, they arrived at the hotel without stopping. At 4:30 a.m., the Second Medical Team of Jiangxi Aid to Shanghai began to prepare for the urgently arranged nucleic acid sampling work. Although they did not have a good rest, none of the team members said that they were bitter and tired. Everyone worked together to complete more than 80,000 nucleic acid samples. After the whole day, although it was hard work, it was recognized by the residents of Shanghai, and we all felt it was worth it when we heard “Thanks to the medical staff in Jiangxi”!

On April 6, the Second Medical Team of Jiangxi Aid to Shanghai will enter the makeshift hospital of the New International Expo Center to face the “Omicron”. As a doctor, I know the hidden and contagious nature of the virus. In the face of the severe epidemic situation, the medical staff practiced putting on and taking off protective clothing whenever they had free time, digging out the details over and over again. In the hotel, protection and infection control are also strictly enforced, and sterilization is strictly performed.

At 12:00 noon, the first medical and nursing group entered the Fangcang shelter hospital of the New International Expo Center at the same time, handed over to the local hospital in Shanghai, conducted ward rounds together, and took over the ward. Shanghai colleagues patiently helped everyone familiarize themselves with the shelter environment, operate the information system, communicate patients’ conditions, introduce prevention and control experience, and supplement some materials. The comrades in arms also quickly adapted to the environment and entered the working state. As a TCM physician, based on recent research and the implementation plan of TCM application in Shanghai Fangcang shelter hospital, combined with tongue image and pulse diagnosis, conduct syndrome differentiation and treatment, carry out TCM granules, TCM use, acupoint sticking and ear acupoint pressure bean work, adjust Improve the immune function of patients, improve the body’s self-protection ability, and help patients recover soon!

When leaving the cabin at night, the medical staff strictly disinfected one by one, and the air was filled with the smell of disinfectant. After leaving the cabin, the medical staff of the second team immediately threw themselves into the material handling work. The night in Shanghai is still a bit cold, but the comrades in arms are still enthusiastic, they are sweating and full of energy!

The prevention and control of the epidemic cannot be delayed, and the national call is obligatory! The medical team consists of 23 doctors from various clinical departments. As the only TCM physician, I am very proud that during the two years of fighting against the epidemic, TCM has deeply participated in the prevention, control and treatment of the new crown epidemic. Unique advantages, I will continue to try to use the traditional Chinese medicine related diagnosis and treatment techniques recommended by the diagnosis and treatment guidelines to solve practical problems.

It’s getting late at night, I need to keep up my energy and keep fighting!
