The Palace Museum really lives up to its reputation

In March 2018, I went to Beijing to apply for a US visa. It happened to have a few days of vacation, so I went to Beijing in advance and visited some scenic spots in Beijing. Although I have traveled to many cities before, but I have never been to the capital. This time, it is also a good trip to take advantage of the opportunity of running errands to go shopping and eat casually.

Although Beijing is very famous and has many historical sites, in fact, Xi’an is not inferior in this regard. However, due to the long history of being the capital, Xi’an has gradually lost its role as a political center in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, but in fact, when it comes to historical sites, there are more places to see in Xi’an. Therefore, I have never been in a rush to go to Beijing. This time I just caught up, so I chose a few representatives to watch.

So the first stop of the train goes straight to the Palace Museum, which was the last power center of the Chinese feudal dynasty, and was later converted into a museum for everyone to visit, so this attraction must not be missed.

When you come to Tiananmen Square, you can see the majestic Tiananmen. At that time, Tiananmen was not allowed to visit. But I heard from my parents that it depends on the situation. When they went to the management desk on the second floor, they could only lament their bad luck.

Go around from the side of Tiananmen, and you will see the main entrance of the Palace Museum, enter from the main entrance and see Meridian Gate, Meridian Gate Next to it is a place to buy tickets. I have read a post, sometimes there are many people who come to the Forbidden City to visit and need to queue up. If you can’t get in, you can come directly from a park next to this gate, you can bypass the people queuing at the main gate, and you can enter the Palace Museum with less queues. I There were not many people when I went, so there was no specific trial.

After buying the ticket and entering through the main entrance, you can reach the scene often seen in film and television dramas, and launch the Meridian Gate where the Meridian Gate is beheaded.

There is an iron fence between the main gate and the Meridian Gate. Inside the fence is the place to buy tickets. You can buy e-tickets online and check in directly.

Enter from Meridian Gate, first cross a white marble bridge, then a large square, opposite is Tai Harmony Gate, behind the Taihe Gate is the Hall of Supreme Harmony. I just entered from the Meridian Gate, then walked all the way to the back door, and then went to the left and right lines to visit.

After visiting the Forbidden City, you can actually understand the establishment and magnificence of the offices of ancient feudal emperors.

The Hall of Supreme Harmony should be the place where the emperor went to court and where civil and military officials met. It is really ingenious to see the dragon-shaped pattern carved on the road. We are really not professional in this aspect. It is best to rent an electronic explainer at the door so that you can hear it wherever you go. I listened to the tour guide’s explanation when I went to the place, and rubbed against other tour groups, which was more intuitive and vivid.

as seen in the textbook The water tank used for firefighting, the animal head on it is really beautiful. The dragon chair that the emperor sat on could only be viewed from a distance and not allowed to approach, but they all saw the legendary treasure, which was really interesting.

It really deserves to be the Palace Museum. Many of the treasures in it have been studied in Chinese textbooks. After coming here, it is really eye-opening. You can compare the knowledge you have learned before to see if it is as good as what is written in the book.

Beijing’s weather is changeable in early spring, and it snowed halfway through the visit, so The Palace Museum can only be visited in the snow. There are countless cultural relics and stories in the Palace Museum, and interested friends can visit slowly. For example, I just walked around and went to small museums such as the Treasure Museum, the Clock Museum, etc. The major attractions have basically been transferred, but I feel that the Royal Garden is a bit small for the royal family, no wonder the Yuanmingyuan was built.

In short, I think the Palace Museum is the number one attraction in Beijing. If you can only visit one scenic spot, then come to the Forbidden City, there is absolutely no problem. The introduction is a bit simple, I hope everyone will bear with it, and if you have the opportunity, it is better to visit it in person.

Original is not easy, I hope everyone will encourage it.
