The new version of the guide changes the scope of nucleic acid detection from “full staff” to “regional”, the Health and Health Commission clarifies doubts

China Youth Daily client, Beijing, March 22 (China Youth Daily, China Youth Daily reporter Liu Changrong) Today, the National Health and Medical Commission announced the “Regional Novel Coronavirus Nucleic Acid Detection Organization Implementation Guidelines (Third Edition)” ( hereinafter referred to as the “New Guide”). In the new version of the guidelines, why has the scope of nucleic acid testing changed from “full staff” to “regional”? At the press conference of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held today, Jiao Yahui, director of the National Health and Medical Commission’s Medical Administration and Medical Administration Bureau, explained that the previous “full” nucleic acid test was easily misunderstood as a large-scale city-wide For testing, the new version of the guidelines has been changed to “regional”, which puts more emphasis on scientific and accurate delineation of the scope of nucleic acid testing. “regional” refers to the rational delineation of the scope of nucleic acid testing according to the situation of epidemic prevention and control.

As for the delineation of the area, Jiao Yahui said that it first depends on accurate scientific research, including the trajectory and scope of activities during the period from the time the infected person was found to be positive for nucleic acid to the first symptom onset, as well as the close contact of the infected person “The more comprehensive the information is, the more accurate the regional division will be.” In addition, factors such as the point-like distribution of risk points or the overall aggregated distribution all determine the scope of regional division.

The new version of the guidelines also adjusts the time limit requirements. Jiao Yahui said that in the past, nucleic acid tests were required to match different completion time limits according to the size of the city’s population, and some were completed within 48 hours and some within 72 hours. The new version of the guidelines is specifically aimed at the fast spread and strong concealment of the Omicron strain, and requires nucleic acid testing in the designated area to be completed within 24 hours.

In addition, the new version of the nucleic acid testing guidelines also adds more specific and targeted guidance. Including the organization and implementation process in various places, it is required to set up 9 special classes to achieve more accurate and effective matching in each link of collection, delivery, inspection and reporting.

Jiao Yahui said that the main background for making such revisions and adjustments is that my country has more than two years of practical experience. “At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, in Zhengzhou, Xi’an, Tianjin and other super-large cities with a population of more than 12 million, the nucleic acid testing of the entire city was completed within 24 hours.” Therefore, in order to improve the ability of early detection, organized this The second revision aims to detect infected persons as early as possible and control the source of infection in a shorter period of time.
