On June 5, the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held a press conference to introduce the work of college students across the country who leave school and return home. At the meeting, Lei Zhenglong, deputy director and first-level inspector of the National Health Commission’s Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, answered a question from a Red Star reporter about the progress of my country’s new crown vaccination.
According to reports, as of June 4, a total of 3.383918 billion doses of the new crown vaccine have been reported nationwide. The total number of people vaccinated reached 1,290,836,000 people, and 1,257,199,000 people have been vaccinated in the whole process. The number of people covered and vaccinated in the whole process accounted for 91.56% and 89.17% of the total population of the country, respectively. 779.977 million people received booster immunizations, including 38.34 million people who received sequential booster immunizations. The number of people over the age of 60 covered by vaccination reached 230.411 million people, and 218.438 million people were vaccinated throughout the whole process. Completed booster immunization for 169.447 million people.
Lei Zhenglong said that the overall progress of the new crown vaccination is smooth, and the number of booster immunization and the number of vaccinations for the elderly is also increasing.
