On the afternoon of March 16, the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government held a press conference on epidemic prevention and control. It was notified at the meeting that as of 24:00 on March 15, there were 1,029 confirmed cases of local new coronary pneumonia in Shandong Province, of which there was only one severe case; after investigation, the case was an elderly man in his 70s who had completed two doses of the new coronavirus. Vaccination, no booster shot yet.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Shandong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the current vaccination rate of the elderly over 60 years old in Shandong Province is 86.59%. We hereby call on the public, especially the elderly, to complete the whole course of the new coronavirus vaccine as soon as possible, and those who meet the conditions should receive a booster shot in time. At the same time, the public is also reminded that even if they are vaccinated against the new crown virus, they should still adhere to measures such as frequent hand washing, wearing masks, frequent ventilation, “one-meter noodles”, and less gatherings to protect themselves.
