Taiwan adds 82 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia imported from abroad

Xinhua News Agency, Taipei, March 10 (Reporters Xu Ruiqing, He Zili) The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced on the 10th that there were 82 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia imported from abroad; After 68 days, the first local “zero case” appeared. In addition, there were no new deaths among the confirmed cases.

The command center stated that on the 10th, 44 new cases were imported from abroad, including 44 males and 38 females, ranging in age from under 5 to over 70 years old, including 25 imported cases from Vietnam.

In response to the slowdown of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Taiwan Epidemic Command Center has relaxed some epidemic prevention measures since March 1. The Taipei City Department of Education announced on the same day that elementary schools and kindergartens will be opened for cross-county-city off-campus teaching (including graduation trips) from March 9.

According to the statistics of the command center, as of now, Taiwan has accumulated a total of 6,522,572 cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia-related notifications, of which 21,081 were confirmed, including 5,552 imported cases and 15,475 local cases.
