Sunshine properly in spring (Chinese medicine health)

The weather in spring turns from cold to warm. The yang qi in nature begins to rise, and the yang qi in the human body also begins to rise. At this time, special attention should be paid to maintaining the yang qi in the body. Sunbathing is one of the most direct and effective ways to replenish yang energy.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that nourishing yang in spring and summer, and nourishing yin in autumn and winter. Sunbathing can not only warm the yang energy in the body, strengthen the bones, but also improve the immunity.

The head is “the head of all yang”, and it is the place where the yang energy of the whole body gathers. Baihui acupoint is located in the middle of the top of the head, where the hundreds of veins converge. When basking in the sun, be sure to let the sun shine over your head, preferably until noon. Between 11:00 and 13:00, go outside and let the sun shine on the top of your head, smooth the pulse, and adjust the yang qi.

There is a common saying in the folk: “To nourish the back is to nourish the whole body.” Chinese medicine believes that the back is yang and the abdomen is yin. The distribution of the back is basically the yang meridian of the human body, sheltering the back from the wind can warm the back and open the yang, dredge the back meridian, which is of great benefit to the heart and lungs, and can play a role in supplementing the yang qi of the human body. If the back is cold, the evil of wind and cold can easily invade through the back meridian, injuring the yang qi and causing disease. People who are old and weak or suffering from chronic illness are prone to relapse and aggravate the disease. Therefore, you can choose to bask between 10:00 and 15:00. In the early spring, the weather is relatively cold, so you must take shelter from the wind when you are sunbathing, and do a good job of preventing cold and keeping warm. The time of tanning can be long or short, usually half an hour each time.

The viscera functions of the human body are supported by yang qi. When you are free on weekdays, you can bask in the sun appropriately to fill the yang qi, and the ability to resist diseases will naturally improve.
