Asymptomatic infections increased?

With the advance of epidemiological investigations in large numbers, the screening capacity and scope are larger, and after the outbreak, the relevant close contacts, sub-close contacts, and risk groups are quickly controlled. These measures have enabled faster detection of infected people in the incubation period, and the proportion of asymptomatic infected people has also increased in early active screening.

“Asymptomatic infection does not mean low infectivity, so centralized isolation measures must be implemented for asymptomatic infection to control the source of infection and block the spread.” Wu Jinglei said that Shanghai also has asymptomatic infections at the same time. Some asymptomatic infected persons will experience changes in their condition, especially the elderly, those who have not been vaccinated, those who are obese, and those with serious underlying diseases, who may develop from asymptomatic to symptomatic or even severe disease. During this period, it is convenient for medical staff to detect and treat in time.

Wu Jinglei said that the treatment of asymptomatic infection is similar to that of mild cases. Clinical observation and follow-up are carried out, risk assessment is carried out, and at the same time, the primary disease is treated, supplemented by moderate medical treatment.
