In recent days, the temperature has risen, the wind has been sunny, and the best time of the year is quietly approaching, but this time is actually a high season for skin allergies. In spring, there are pollen, dust, mites, molds, insects, etc., coupled with factors such as ultraviolet radiation and cosmetic irritation, which can easily induce allergic skin diseases. Deng Rui, a general practitioner at Houzaimen Community Health Service Center in Xuanwu District, reminded that allergic skin diseases such as eczema, seasonal facial dermatitis, cosmetic dermatitis, urticaria, solar dermatitis, papular urticaria, neurodermatitis, etc. So everyone should pay attention next.
According to Deng Rui, seasonal dermatitis is mostly manifested as facial erythema, papules, swelling, and exudation in severe cases. It develops to chronic hypertrophy, desquamation, and obvious pruritus. It is high in spring and the symptoms will be relieved after spring. The performance of solar dermatitis is that strong ultraviolet radiation causes erythema, swelling, blisters, and obvious itching on the face and neck. In spring, many people like to go out to play. Due to the pleasant temperature, many people ignore the damage of ultraviolet rays to the skin, and do not do sunscreen protection. Prolonged ultraviolet exposure aggravates the damage to the skin. The predisposing factors for urticaria are that there are more pollen in spring, and the pollen catkins and other substances in the air stimulate the skin to appear erythema, wheal, and itching, which can be accompanied by symptoms such as asthma and rhinitis. In severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur. Papular urticaria is mostly caused by mosquito bites in spring and autumn, resulting in symptoms such as wheals, blisters, and itchy skin, which usually occurs on the limbs.
How to prevent allergic skin diseases? Deng Rui said, first of all, everyone’s daily eating habits are closely related to spring allergic skin diseases. Many people like to eat irritating foods, such as various seafood, beef, fish and shrimp and other irritating foods, as well as peppers, garlic, leeks and cinnamon, etc. These irritating foods are more likely to induce eczema, urticaria and other skin diseases. The corresponding skin disease has already appeared, which will further aggravate the disease. Therefore, for patients who are prone to various allergic constitutions, the diet should be based on light food, and at the same time, they should eat more fruits and vitamins, and strengthen their physique through exercise.
Also, avoid exposure to allergens. Try to avoid places with a lot of pollen and catkins, such as parks. Wear masks and glasses when going out, reduce exposed parts, and minimize direct contact of pollen with the skin. Do not dry bedding and clothes under trees.
Finally, you need to relax, reduce stress, and treat skin allergies with the right attitude. Allergy is a self-limiting disease, like a cold, if you do not take medicine and injections, the condition will get better. So you have to calm down and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Excessive pressure will also aggravate sensitive symptoms. Nanjing Morning News/Love Nanjing reporter Qian Ming
