According to the press conference on epidemic prevention and control in Beihai City, Guangxi on July 17, as of 24:00 on July 16, Beihai City had 9 local confirmed cases and 444 local asymptomatic infections. More than 2,000 tourists are stranded in the Beihai.

On the same day, the Weizhou Island tourist area issued an emergency notice stating that all personnel were suspended from entering and leaving the Weizhou Island tourist area.

Ms. Huang from Nanchang recently traveled to Beihai with her family. Ms. Huang told the Health Times reporter, “We went to the island on the 13th. On the 14th, we received a notice from the owner of the homestay, saying that everyone on the 15th must leave the island, and the flight will be suspended on the 16th. The first time I was panicked and felt a little bit. I can’t figure out the clue. After boarding the ship, it was delayed for a long time because of the nucleic acid preparation.”

Ms. Huang said that the family later successfully arrived in Beihai and then returned to Nanchang. “We have reported the situation to the community in advance. Recently, there have been two inspections in three days and a seven-day health observation.”

Regarding the current situation on Weizhou Island, Dake (pseudonym), who runs a homestay on Weizhou Island, told the Health Times reporter that, affected by the epidemic, about three or four days ago, they began to persuade tourists to return, and some tourists began to leave one after another. On July 17, the management and control were upgraded, and all personnel entering and leaving Weizhou Island were suspended. “However, the staff in the tourist area have made corresponding arrangements and deployments to help tourists solve their living problems on the island and at the same time soothe their emotions.”

“The island is still very safe, and the epidemic prevention and control The work is also in place.” Dake said that residents and tourists on the island have been tested for nucleic acid, and no confirmed cases have been found so far.
