Lv Dongbin wrote a poem full of imagination, which was also used as the opening poem in “Jin Ping Mei”

China has a long history and a long history of culture, and many famous people have appeared. They used their wisdom and ability to leave a lot of classic works for us in future generations. And many works are reflected in the field of “love”. For example, the historical celebrity Lu Dongbin once wrote a poem on clouds and rain, which was called “the king of dirty poems” by later generations, and was even used as the opening chapter of “Jin Ping Mei” poetry.

Lu Dongbin is the patriarch of the mainstream Taoist Quanzhen School, named Yan (“yan” or “rock”), word Dongbin, Taoist name Chunyangzi, self-proclaimed Hui Taoist , from Hezhongfu, Puzhou, Hedong (now Yongle Town, Ruicheng, Shanxi). Lv Dongbin was originally a Confucian scholar, and can also be understood as an ancient scholar. When he was 40 years old, he met Zheng Huolong, a real person who taught swordsmanship, and when he was 64 years old, he met Zhongliquan and passed on alchemy. It is the ancestor of Jianxian Jianxian (the first sword immortal in the world).

According to the “Quanzhen Interpretation”, Lu Dongbin was included in the Eight Immortals (Tieguai) when he was invited by the head of the Eight Immortals, Tieguai Li, at the famous Xianyuan Stalagmite Mountain during the Northern Song Dynasty. Li, Zhong Liquan, Zhang Guolao, Lan Caihe, He Xiangu, Lv Dongbin, Han Xiangzi, Cao Guojiu).

What’s interesting is that such a cultivator also has some insight into the mundane things, and left a very classic cloud and rain work for later generations, and the name of this work is ” Warning”.

“Warning the World”

Lv Dongbin at the end of Tang Dynasty

The body of the 28th Jia is like a crisp, and the sword at the waist cuts the fool.

Although no one’s head fell, he secretly taught you that the bone marrow was dry.

For this poem, we can understand it like this: a wonderful woman in 28 years, her body is very fascinating, such a person can even lean on the waist Good beats countless stupid people. Although I didn’t see the bloody scene where the head fell, it made a man go into a state of defeat from the inside.

In fact, in a sense, this poem is a warning to the world that although women are good and fascinating, don’t be fascinated by them. Otherwise, you won’t know how you died in the end. Even if you don’t die, you may hurt your body and end up in a bad future.

Obviously, such a statement is one-sided. Women are not all bad. If two people have love and can progress together, this love is enviable. And if a woman is with the same man because of her own desires, and only wants to play with the man, she needs to pay more attention. From this point of view, this poem actually has a certain warning significance.

This poem appears in “Jin Ping Mei”, which is a long vernacular novel of the world in the Ming Dynasty in China. The name is composed of three heroines in the book, Pan Jinlian, Li Ping’er and Pang Chunmei.

And this novel also has a great connection with “Water Margin”, which evolved from the passage of Wu Song killing his sister-in-law in “Water Margin”. In the full text, through the description of Ximen Qing, a representative of the philistine forces with three identities of bureaucrat, bully, and wealthy businessman, and his family’s sinful life, the author shows people the dark side of the social life at that time, and exposes the society in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. The darkness and corruption is thought-provoking. It is precisely because of this that this novel has been highly praised by people, and it has made the imperial court so fearful that it has even been listed as a banned book.
