Lingcheng District People’s Hospital successfully carried out the first FFR-guided precise coronary interventional therapy

Recently, Li Zhonghe, director of the Department of Cardiology of Lingcheng District People’s Hospital, with the cooperation of the intervention room staff, performed a Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) measurement for an elderly patient. The coronary blood flow status of the patients was evaluated.

It is reported that the patient is an elderly male with episodic chest pain for 3 years. He was sent to a superior hospital for angiography because of angina pectoris. The middle and distal segments of the anterior descending artery were 70% stenotic, and he received oral medication. One year ago, the onset of chest pain was worse than before, and the 65% stenosis of the descending artery before angiography was reviewed, and drug treatment was continued. 3 days ago, the chest pain recurred, the duration was significantly prolonged, the pain symptoms were aggravated, accompanied by profuse sweating, and the lesions of descending artery before angiography were not significantly worsened by the Lingcheng District People’s Hospital. Descending artery stenosis was caused by lesions, and FFR was used to re-evaluate the anterior wall ischemia. After stent implantation, FFR evaluation of anterior wall hemodynamics was significantly improved, and postoperative drug treatment was adjusted. The symptoms of chest pain were relieved before discharge, and there was no recurrence.

FFR can specifically reflect the functional severity of subadventitial coronary stenosis, and has certain guiding significance for ostium, branch, multivessel and diffuse lesions. In patients with SCAD without evidence of ischemia, FFR is recommended for lesions with 50% to 90% diameter stenosis on coronary angiography.

The development of FFR technology provides a reliable basis for the precise treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Lingcheng District People’s Hospital, so that objectionable stenotic lesions can be reasonably examined and scientifically evaluated. It improves the scientificity and accuracy of cardiovascular interventional therapy, marking that Lingcheng District People’s Hospital has entered the “heart” era of precise coronary interventional therapy.
