Open Douyin or Xiaohongshu, and we will see many bloggers recommending peach water.
Some bloggers said when recommending that the child has prickly heat, apply peach water 1-2 times a day, and it will heal in two days. When parents give their children a bath, pour a few drops of peach water into the bath water, which can not only treat prickly heat, but also prevent it. There are also many mothers in the comments who testify to its magical effect.
Can peach water really prevent and treat prickly heat?
In the past, many mothers used talcum powder or prickly heat powder to prevent prickly heat. However, since a few years ago, talcum powder has been deeply carcinogenic because of the talc in its ingredients. Not to mention whether it is carcinogenic, the powder is easily inhaled into the human body and damages the respiratory tract. In addition, thick powder puffs or repeated use in a short period of time can clog pores, prevent perspiration, and aggravate prickly heat.
Some mothers also treat prickly heat with toilet water and ten drops of water. But these all contain alcohol, which can irritate the baby’s delicate skin and are gradually abandoned by mothers.
At this time, the “peach water” from Japan has entered the attention of the mothers. It does not contain talc, is not powder, will not cause cancer, and will not harm the respiratory tract by inhalation; without alcohol, No pigment, weak acidity, mild and non-irritating features are favored by mothers.
Can peach water with these advantages really treat and prevent prickly heat? This has to be analyzed from its composition.
Mothers were the first to know about Pekin Peach Water in Japan, and it is still the “star” of Peach Water.
We have selected three kinds: the Japanese and domestic versions of Peiqin peach water and Utsu peach water, and take a look at their ingredients:
The active ingredients in the promotion of peach water are dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, allantoin and peach leaf extract. The first two are particularly common common moisturizers, the basic ingredients of many cosmetic products. Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate has anti-inflammatory properties and allantoin has a soothing effect.
The composition and function of peach leaf extract are not yet clear, and there is no scientific basis for its anti-prickly heat treatment. But for babies with sensitive skin, it may still be an allergen.
So far, 6 allergens have been found in the fruit, peel, branches and leaves of peach trees, especially Pru p3, which can cause food allergies and respiratory allergies.
A 2013 Spanish study on the sensitization mechanism of children eating and contacting peaches showed that Pru p3 was the main allergen.
A 2017 study of 37 peach tree workers found that peach leaf allergy was the cause of occupational respiratory symptoms.
That’s why some kids get a red circle around their mouths and even itching after eating peaches.
Also, whether in Japan or in Japan, peach water is sold as a skin care product, and it is not like drugs that need to be tested to confirm its effect.
So, in general, peach water in the state of lotion is more refreshing than cream or ointment, and it is a good choice to apply peach water to moisturize the skin in summer.
But there is currently no conclusive evidence that it is more effective than other lotions in treating and preventing prickly heat.
So, how to prevent prickly heat?
We already know that prickly heat is caused by too much sweat clogging the pores. Therefore, the main principle of prevention and treatment of prickly heat should be to reduce sweating orWhen scrubbing sweat, you can start from the following three aspects:
A lower temperature
Reduce your activity when the weather is hot, turn on the air conditioner to the right temperature, and reduce sweating.
B stay dry
Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing. Change clothes in time after they are soaked with sweat, and wipe them off in time after sweating. For babies who can’t walk, turn over in time, and dry the back, buttocks and body folds regularly.
C Cleaning
Clean up sweat in time, take frequent baths, and keep your skin clean and hygienic. To ensure cleanliness, choose mild and non-irritating toiletries.
If the itching is severe after the prickly heat is born, applying calamine lotion can quickly relieve the itching, but it must be noted that it cannot be applied if the prickly heat is broken.
Peach Water is a moisturizing body lotion. In the hot summer, it will be more refreshing and skin care, and the user experience is also better from the evaluation. However, the effect of peach water on prickly heat treatment is not clear. Lowering the ambient temperature, keeping the body dry, and taking frequent baths are effective measures to prevent and treat prickly heat.
