Life is like a curve, and our mood also rises and falls with this curve, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, this undulating curve, and Our luck has a lot to do with it. When we are lucky, everything goes smoothly. When we are unlucky, we are always “criminal” and everything goes wrong.
There are villains everywhere in life, so the ancients said, “It’s better to offend a gentleman than a villain”, because they would secretly prank people , If you accidentally offend and provoke the villain, you may be entangled in all kinds of troubles and right and wrong, which is called “offending the villain”.
Is there anything I can do when things go wrong with the villain? Of course, today we will follow Lao Tzu’s “Tao Te Ching” to learn a “bad trick” to deal with villains, and we can easily resolve the experience of “criminal villains”.
During the Spring and Autumn Period, on the right side of the throne of the monarch of the State of Lu, there was a strange utensil, which looked like an upside-down The main function of the hanging bell is to hold water. What’s so strange about this device? It is because of this device that “empty is sloppy, middle is right, and full is overturned”.
That is to say, when the container is empty, it is in a tilted state. If you add water to half of it, it is in an upright and neutral state. , but if you keep filling it up, it will suddenly turn a somersault and pour out all the water, so this strange device is called a “twist”.
The monarch of the State of Lu put the utensils on the side of the throne, not for the purpose of filling water, nor for viewing, but through the utensils to “fill up” To remind oneself of the characteristics of “inviting loss, humble benefit”, because people are the same. If you get too full of things, you will become complacent, and complacent will make people jealous. Sooner or later, you will be overthrown by others, commonly known as somersaults.
Many years later, when Confucius took his students to visit this pair of utensils, he said with emotion: How can the world be full and will not be in the future? What about the overturned thing? His students asked: Is there any way not to overturn it?
Confucius replied: If you are too smart, detract from your intelligence and make yourself stupid; If you are rich in the world, then give out some alms. In short, everything must be prevented from “overfilling and overflowing”. This is “the way of holding fullness, and preventing it from being lost”.
So this opinion of Confucius is actually derived from Laozi’s wisdom, because long before Confucius, Laozi has mentioned many times ” loss” concept.
In the forty-eighth chapter of Lao Tzu’s “Tao Te Ching”, there is such a passage: For the sake of learning, the day will be lost. Damaged and damaged to the point of inaction. Do nothing and do nothing. Then in the ninth chapter of the Tao Te Ching, he also said, “It is better to keep it and gain it.”
In other words: nothing can be overfilled, You must know how to stop when you are enough, and this “stop” is not only stop, but also “loss stop”, that is, when you are full, you have to throw a little out.
“Daily detriment” means that one must constantly detract from oneself in learning and cultivating the Dao. You will be proud, you will lose the necessary reverence for everything, and you will naturally recruit villains to memorize words.
But when we learn Lao Tzu’s “the way to reduce damage” to “self-harm”, we can avoid the “external damage” caused by the villain. “, so we say that this trick of Lao Tzu to deal with “criminal villains” is a “damaging trick”, which actually refers to the principle of “harming the sun for the sake of the Dao”. The “bad move” of the villain.
Of course I put it into study On the other hand, it is also necessary to have this self-destructive spirit. Only by keeping yourself empty at all times will you have the desire to learn and the space to learn, instead of thinking that I have mastered everything.
Pride and complacency will not only attract the jealousy of villains, but also hinder our own learning and progress. Therefore, we must keep our hearts empty. If you do subtraction often, your luck in life will naturally be better.
