Guizhou Provincial Medical Pediatric Surgery Da Vinci Robotic Surgery Breaks Through 100 Cases

People’s Daily Online, Guiyang, March 18 (Long Zhangyu) On March 18, the reporter learned from Guizhou Provincial People’s Hospital that after a recent successful completion of a pediatric pyeloplasty, Da Vinci of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of Guizhou Provincial People’s Hospital Robotic surgery exceeded 100 cases.

It is understood that in the application of surgical robots in the field of minimally invasive surgery, children have higher application value than adults. Among them, the Da Vinci robot has the characteristics of less trauma, quick recovery, and fewer complications. It is currently the world’s leading high-tech technology, which can further reduce complications, speed up recovery, and improve surgical safety.

As the first unit in the province to carry out Da Vinci robotic surgery for children, Guizhou Provincial People’s Hospital has completed 103 cases of Da Vinci robotic surgery since the first case in March 2020, including choledochal cysts. There were 3 cases of radical resection, 5 cases of repeated nephrectomy, 3 cases of vesicoureteral replantation, 6 cases of dysplastic nephrectomy, 4 cases of adrenal tumor resection, and 82 cases of pyeloplasty.

Zha Yan, president of Guizhou Provincial People’s Hospital, said that after accelerating the application of the Finch robot, the hospital’s pediatric surgery technology has made a substantial leap. In the next step, we will take the great opportunity of building a national regional medical center as an opportunity, relying on the technical output and management output of the national team hospital brand, to create a more professional and comprehensive pediatric surgery, and help the continuous progress of the pediatric surgery in Guizhou Province.
