From 0 to 24:00 on February 23, 8 new local confirmed cases and 1 local asymptomatic infection were added in Guangdong Province. Shenzhen reported that they were found through close inspection or regional screening included in the control.
The province added 44 new imported confirmed cases (8 of which were asymptomatic infections transferred to diagnosis), 2 cases were reported in Guangzhou, from Tanzania and New Zealand; 4 cases were reported in Foshan, 2 cases were from Malaysia , the remaining 2 cases were from Australia and Hong Kong, China; Shenzhen reported 20 cases, Zhuhai reported 9 cases, Huizhou reported 4 cases, Dongguan reported 2 cases, Zhongshan reported 1 case, and Jiangmen reported 2 cases, all from Hong Kong, China. There were 49 new cases of asymptomatic infections imported from abroad, 5 cases were reported in Guangzhou, from the United Kingdom, Fiji, Kenya, Nigeria and Congo (DRC); 4 cases were reported in Foshan, 2 cases were from Australia, and the remaining 2 cases were from Myanmar and Malaysia; Shenzhen reported 7 cases, Huizhou reported 2 cases, Dongguan reported 26 cases, Zhongshan reported 1 case, and Jiangmen reported 4 cases, all from Hong Kong, China. 11 new cases were discharged from hospital, and 454 cases are currently in hospital.
As of 24:00 on February 23, the province has reported a total of 7,947 positive cases of COVID-19 (5,817 imported from abroad), including 4,285 confirmed cases (2,547 imported from abroad) and 3,662 asymptomatic infections. Cases (3270 cases imported from abroad).
