Fishbone stuck in throat, nosebleed and head raised… How many more people will these “suicide first aid” be harassed!

How many

From small to large

Had this conversation with my mother:

A nosebleed?

Look up and stuff it with paper!

Fishbone stuck?

Swallow!

Body problems?

Try home remedies!

But actually…

These “national unity” approaches

It can be said to be “suicide” first aid!

Presumably everyone has a nosebleed.

Fortunate people, it may be a trickle; for some sad ones, it is a continuous “flow of blood”.

Even waking up in a daze in the middle of the night to find myself lying in a “pool of blood”…the scene is spectacular.

So here comes the question?

Why do we get nosebleeds[1]?

A nosebleed is usually accompanied by a parent’s urgent action: look up! Immediately rub the toilet paper into strips and plug it into the nostrils to stop the bleeding!

But this is a big mistake!

When you lift your head up, the blood in the nose will flow back to the nasopharynx and throat, which may irritate the gastric mucosa and cause vomiting; it may also be poured into the lungs, cause choking [2].

It’s even more dangerous if the blood is clotted. If a blood clot is sucked into the windpipe, it can cause suffocation!

Can a nosebleed be suffocating? This is not alarmist.

Some time ago, there was a similar incident on the hot search: a 3-year-old boy in Changsha, Hunan, raised his head to stop the bleeding after a nosebleed, but an unfortunate thing happened – a blood clot entered the trachea Caused suffocation, and the final rescue failed.

It’s wrong to lift your head to stop bleeding, and it’s wrong to stuff a tissue with a nosebleed.

If the tissue is less stuffed, there is no way to stop the bleeding; if there is too much stuffing, the process of twisting the tissue into the nasal cavity is likely to cause damage to the nasal mucosa. Old wounds are hurting, and new ones are added, making the fragile nose even worse.

What is the correct way to do it?

It’s as simple as three steps: Calm down, lean forward, and pinch your nose.

Don’t panic when you encounter something, take out your mobile phone and take a picture and send it… If you make a mistake, come again!

First, lean forward to avoid nasal blood flowing to the oropharynx; use a tissue to block the spilled blood, but it is not recommended to pinch the tissue into a ball and stuff it into the nasal cavity! (If a clean medical cotton ball is available, apply gentle pressure to stop the bleeding.)

Secondly, breathe gently with the mouth to prevent blood from choking into the respiratory tract; if there is blood in the mouth, try to spit it out, so as not to stimulate the stomach and cause vomiting.

Finally, squeeze both sides of the nose with your fingers for 10 to 15 minutes, and continue to breathe through your mouth to stop the bleeding easily.

This method is suitable for people with bleeding from the front of the nose. After all, among the bleeding points in the nose, the front part of the nasal cavity is the most common [3].

If the bleeding does not stop after 15 minutes, it is recommended to do it again and continue to squeeze the nose for 10 to 15 minutes.

Follow these three steps, and the nosebleed will stop soon after the nosebleed is not much!

Although nosebleed is a trivial matter, don’t take it lightly. You must go to the hospital for the following situations:

1. If you have a nosebleed for more than 30 minutes and feel dizzy, go to the hospital with someone.

2. Frequent nosebleeds (a small flow for two days and a large flow for three days), it is recommended to go to the hospital to find out the cause.

3. A large number of nosebleeds (gushing out of friends), you may be nasal artery bleeding, go to the hospital immediately, it is important to save your life.

Late night ENT emergency department is reserved for fish lovers.

I don’t know how many fish eaters got stuck by small fishbone and rushed to the ENT emergency room.

There are even many people who take a fluke and drag it to the point of being unbearable before going to the doctor.

What should I do if the fishbone gets stuck?

In many people’s minds, drinking vinegar + swallowing rice balls can be said to be a “throat jam”.

It’s heart-wrenching – the traditional “throat card package” is not only useless, it may be a “death package”!

Swallowing rice balls not only does not help the bone to pass through the esophagus, but may also cause perforation [4]. The esophagus is softer than we thought, with 3 physiological strictures, all of which may be damaged or even punctured by fishbone.

Vinegar is also the first choice for many people when their throat gets stuck. Although vinegar can soften fishbone, but drink enough to soften fishbone…Are you drinking a “billion” bottle of vinegar? In addition, drinking a lot of water, swallowing continuously, and even inducing vomiting are irrational behaviors [5,6].

The fishbone is stuck, what should I do?

1. Don’t swallow rice balls, don’t drink water, don’t drink vinegar; try to avoid swallowing to prevent the fishbone from getting deeper.

2. You can open your mouth wide and let people around you look at the position of the fishbone. If it is shallow, you can try to take it out with tweezers (the action should be gentle, just try, if you can’t take it out, don’t force it out) ).

3. However, it is important to save your life, so it is recommended to go to the hospital!

This seems to be a mysterious topic.

Remember the remedies that were brainwashed by mom and grandma in those years?

At this time, many students may not be able to sit still:

Don’t get excited, we’ll take stock one by one next.

The three major tortures that plague contemporary people – hemorrhoids, hair loss, oral ulcers, and those corresponding remedies.

1. Hemorrhoids – chrysanthemum stuffed with garlic

I have to say, this guy is really brave.

But sorry, garlic itself has a strong irritant, not only can not “fight poison with poison”, but also aggravate hemorrhoids.

In addition to garlic, hemorrhoid sufferers are also looking for various “hemorrhoid” treatments on the Internet: smoking, sitz baths, lubrication, herbal medicine…even, cutting yourself…

Stop, stop, stop this “suicidal” therapy!

In medical terms, hemorrhoids are a mass of blood vessels, which is a soft mass of veins formed by dilated veins near the anus. Cutting the blood vessels by yourself is a big problem [7,8]! Serious hemorrhoids must go to the hospital in time!

This is not to say that hemorrhoids cannot manage themselves [9].

For most people, prevention is the best management!

The risk factors for hemorrhoids include dry stool, frequent bowel movements, prolonged squatting time, alcoholism, spicy taste, and lack of dietary fiber intake [10,11].

Changing diet and squatting habits is better than any home remedies[12]!

2. Ginger for hair loss – very bald

Except for the head, the rest of the hair is very strong, which is the pain of all bald people.

Hair is so precious… each strand has its own name.

There are many possible causes of hair loss[13-16].

On the road to prevent hair loss, have you tried these methods: rubbing your head with ginger slices, ginger h oil, various ginger shampoos…

Not only are these methods useless, they are actually bad for your hair! [17] This is because:

The main ingredient of ginger is 6-gingerol, which not only does not promote hair follicle growth, but may also inhibit hair growth;

When ginger is applied externally to the scalp, it may irritate the scalp, leading to contact dermatitis and local redness and exudation;

Except ginger shampoo, most of the other anti-hair loss shampoos you see on the market have not been verified by large-scale clinical observation, and their efficacy remains to be confirmed.

An anti-hair loss shampoo should be treated with normality, not all expectations.

The hair loss is so serious, is it true?

Appropriately supplementing the diet with black food is beneficial because it contains trace elements essential for hair growth, but again, it is unrealistic to pin your hopes on eating black food.

If you have severe hair loss, it is a wise choice to actively seek out the cause and go to a regular tertiary hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

3. Oral ulcers – don’t always contain a vitamin C tablet

Oral ulcer is not a serious illness, but it hurts!

Anyone who has experienced it knows that enjoying food is no longer a pleasure…

Faced with pain, many people choose vitamin C tablets.

But really…it’s not necessarily useful.

The exact cause of oral ulcers is not yet known, but may be related to factors such as low immunity, nutritional deficiencies, psychological stress, genetic infections, indigestion, and even women’s menstrual cycle can affect the onset of oral ulcers . But so far, it has not been found that oral ulcers are related to vitamin deficiency.

Have a mouth ulcer, what should I do?

Remember one: speed up ulcer healing, take care of your mouth, and definitely not irritate it (those using ginger and green peppers are certainly not advisable), you can do these things specifically [18,19]:< /p>

Avoid harsh toothpastes containing sodium lauryl sulfate, and a protective ointment recommended by a doctor is recommended;

Use a soft, small toothbrush (usually avoid large and hard toothbrushes, the teeth are not the floor or the toilet);

Do not eat hard, spicy, heavy, sour, or hot food.

Avoid factors that induce or aggravate ulcers, such as smoking, drinking, and stress [20].

Medication will speed up the healing of ulcers. You can choose antibacterial mouthwash and analgesic mouthwash (children are prohibited), corticosteroid lozenges (not suitable for children under 12 years old), Chinese patent medicine watermelon cream, etc.

If you suffer from oral ulcers, here is the good news: milder oral ulcers usually heal on their own within 1-2 weeks.

Therefore – perseverance is victory!

If mouth ulcers are serious, don’t rely on self-sustainability, and seek medical treatment is a better choice. In the following cases, it is recommended to go to the hospital:

There are always people who don’t believeWhat the doctor said, I like to listen to the remedies, and feel that the remedies have a kind of mysterious power.

But in fact, these unfounded remedies are no different from “human blood steamed buns”!

Believe in science and learn more about reliable knowledge, so that you can handle the pain properly. It’s time to see a doctor, take medicine and take medicine, and soon you will be a hero again! It can also be forwarded to the crowd of people who love each other on a blind date, and show them to parents.

Writing here, I suddenly found that nosebleeds-fishbone stuck throat-mouth ulcers-hair loss-hemorrhoids, this is the truth of everyone’s life from childhood, youth, middle age, old age what!
