Dragon fruit “red heart” is twice as expensive as “white heart”, what’s the difference? That’s the difference

Every time I buy dragon fruit, I get tangled in my heart.

The two look basically the same, just a red heart and a white heart, why can the price be doubled?

The sugar content of red heart dragon fruit (about 9.61% of total sugar) is higher than that of white heart dragon fruit (about 8.83% of total sugar), and it is also slightly higher in calories[1].

In terms of taste, the sugar-to-acid ratio of red pitaya is also slightly higher than that of white pitaya[2], so it tastes more sweet and sour, with a stronger taste.

In addition, the antioxidant substances such as polyphenols and flavonoids in red pitaya are also higher than those in white pitaya[1].

As for other nutrients, there is little difference.

Overall, dragon fruit is indeed more nutritious, but these advantages are not so obvious, and it is not worth the double the price.

As for which one to buy, it depends on your preferences.
