“Over-the-eye heat” is a traditional acupuncture technique, a type of “burning mountain fire” acupuncture technique. Fengchi
Operation: The patient sits upright, takes Fengchi acupoint, selects a 1-inch filigree needle, and matches the needle tip with both hands Insert the needle 0.5-0.8 cun toward the inner canthus of the contralateral eye (do not stab inward and upward). After inserting the needle, carefully feel the breath under the needle until the patient feels sore, numb, bloated, and heavy. It is difficult to describe in words, you need to experience it yourself, and then apply the warm acupuncture method to make the eyes feel warm and comfortable. Breathe for 1 to 3 minutes, then release the needle after holding the breath, and press the needle hole. Commonly used acupoints: Zanzhu, Sun, Neiguan, Guangming, Taichong Touyongquan, etc.
“Eye-crossing heat” acupuncture is named after the operation of “warming acupuncture” on Fengchi acupoint to generate heat and make it reach the eye area It is one of the characteristic techniques inherited from the academic school of Zheng’s acupuncture in Gansu. The key point of its operation lies in the cooperation of the pressing hand and the stabbing hand, and the pressing hand is reused to promote the acupuncture to reach the eye area, unclog the local meridians around the eye, invigorate qi and improve eyesight, promote blood circulation and disperse blood stasis. Clinically used for the treatment of myopia, amblyopia, dry eye, scleritis and other eye diseases.
How to do it
Patient removal In the sitting position, the doctor’s left thumb or index finger presses the Fengchi point. After routine disinfection with a 75% ethanol cotton ball, a 0.30 mm × 25 mm or 0.30 mm × 40 mm needle is held in the right hand. Slowly insert the needle for about 20 mm. When the surgeon feels the urge to go under the needle, ask the patient if there is a feeling of soreness and swelling, and perform the “warm acupuncture method” when the patient feels strong acupuncture. Twist and press forward 9 times to make the needle sink tightly. The tip of the needle pulls the sensitive part and inserts it in small steps and gently lifts it 9 times in a row. Then twist and press the thumb forward for 9 times. Push hard and keep qi to keep the needle sinking and tight feeling. At this time, the pressing hand is applied with the “closing method”, that is, the pressing hand is placed under the acupuncture point, the pressure is increased and the upward force is continuously exerted, so that the needle sensation is transmitted to the eye area. And produce heat sensation, keep Qi (keeping Qi is to keep the needle feeling, keep the needle feeling for 1-3 minutes, which can also be achieved by basic techniques); after retaining the needle, slowly withdraw the needle and press the needle hole.
