“I thought about putting up with it at home, and waiting for the epidemic to pass before doing a physical examination.” At 8:00 a.m. on April 6, the cardiovascular rehabilitation department of the Second People’s Hospital of Hunan admitted a minor patient.
Liu Hua (pseudonym), male, 17 years old, was admitted to the hospital due to palpitations for half a month and a heart rate of 140 beats/min. Relevant examinations were completed after admission, and it was found that the patient had no history of heart disease. The chest CT plain scan showed a large amount of effusion in the right pleural cavity, which caused palpitations and discomfort due to the extrusion of the effusion. The doctor immediately performed thoracentesis for the patient to drain the effusion, and the patient’s symptoms improved significantly.
Director Xing Zuzhong of the Department of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation of the Second People’s Hospital of Hunan Province reminded that although the epidemic prevention and control situation is severe, when the following symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is required:
1. Exacerbation of various chronic diseases, such as systolic blood pressure ≥ 180 mmHg, and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 110 mmHg in patients with hypertension, altered consciousness, severe headache or dizziness, nausea and vomiting, blurred vision, eye pain, palpitations, chest tightness, dyspnea, etc.; Diabetic patients have blood sugar ≥16.7mmol/L or blood sugar ≤3.9mmol/L.
2. Sudden chest tightness, chest pain, severe abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, acute limb movement disorder, change of consciousness, difficulty in speaking or understanding, numbness or weakness on one side of the face, hands or feet, etc.

5. Pregnant women have blurred vision, headache, palpitation, shortness of breath, increased blood pressure, abnormal fetal movement, abnormal abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding or fluid.
6. Those requiring regular standard treatment, such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
Xing Zuzhong suggested that you should try to choose a hospital that is close to your home and that can meet the needs of seeing a doctor, understand the situation of the hospital and the process of seeing a doctor in advance, make an appointment, bring your documents and recent inspection results, and reduce your stay in the hospital; admission; Afterwards, avoid crowded places and wait for a doctor; when queuing, keep a 1-meter distance and reduce conversations with people; wash hands and change clothes in time after returning home after seeing a doctor.
