Chaihu with raw malt
Chaihu Qingqing Shengsan is good for soothing the liver and relieving depression, raising the yang to lift depression . Malt mainly dissipates, which is not only good for digestion and neutralization, but also soothes the liver and resolves stagnation. The raw malt is commonly used in clinical use with Bupleurum, which is used for regulating the liver. Because “Buihu regulates the liver to enhance and lifts, and raw malt regulates the liver to spread out.” Lifting and Xuantong are “combined to achieve the power of regulating liver qi”, then “the stagnation of liver qi will be self-opening, and the one that suppresses it will be self-opening. Shu, and Xu also has his usual dredging ability.” After the two are used together, they can soothe the liver qi and help the kidney qi to get through.
Indications: Infertility due to liver stagnation, irregular menstrual periods, more or less menstrual flow, or accompanied by pain in the chest, flanks and breasts, or restlessness , or prolonged infertility.
Chaihu and Malt Recipe
Chaihu Shugan Syrup “Traditional Prescription”
Composition and dosage: Bupleurum, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Cyperus officinalis, Citrus aurantium, 30 grams each of raw malt, 10 grams each of licorice and Chuanxiong; 250 grams of sugar. Add 2000 grams of water to the above-mentioned medicines and foods, boil the juice to remove residue, extract 1500 grams of juice, add 250 grams of sugar to make syrup. 30 grams per serving, 2 times a day. After taking the medicine, keep the medicine fresh.
Functions and Indications: Soothing the liver and relieving depression, regulating qi and widening the middle, strengthening the stomach and digesting food. It is effective for chronic hepatitis, hypochondriac pain and low fever due to liver stagnation and qi stagnation.
Chaihu Shugan Powder (treatment of nodules)
Consists of dried tangerine peel and Cyanophora , Chuanxiong, Citrus aurantium, red peony, Bupleurum, raw malt, licorice, saponin thorn, Zhejiang fritillary, Scrophulariaceae, raw oyster, 12 herbs. Decoct the medicine in water, decoct twice for one dose, and divide it into 2 portions after mixing. One dose a day, in the morning and evening.
