“1+1” injection method: firstly inject 1mg of hydromorphone, 15min later to assess the pain of the patient, if the pain is not well controlled, add another 1mg .
The study showed that patients with acute pain in the emergency department were treated with two analgesic regimens of hydromorphone: (1) a one-time injection of 2 mg of hydromorphone; ② “1+1” injection method. It was found by comparison that the two regimens had the same safety and efficacy, but the latter could achieve a more satisfactory analgesic effect. For acute severe pain patients in the emergency department, the use of a “1+1” analgesic regimen within the first hour may be prioritized.
