Ah… so, complete the nucleic acid test by yourself

Recently, the Comprehensive Team of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council has decided to add antigen testing as a supplement to nucleic acid testing. The public can purchase antigen testing reagents for testing. On March 15, Nandu reporter invited Lin Zhiquan, a laboratory technician from the Laboratory Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to demonstrate in detail how to complete the antigen self-test at home.

The steps of home antigen testing are roughly divided into the following four steps:

I. Preparations

Wash hands, clean the nasal cavity, check the test materials (swab Swabs, extraction tubes, kits, medical waste sealed bags)

Second, sampling

1. Take out the swab, tear it along the opening,

2. Sampling:

Nasal sampling for antigen detection

Take nasal sampling as an example, raise the head 15 degrees, insert the swab into the nasal cavity 1-1.5 cm, rotate 4 times, and operate the same swab in the other nasal cavity.

Oral sampling for antigen detection

Taking oral sampling as an example, Insert the swab completely into the throat and wipe the tonsils and posterior pharyngeal wall of both sides with moderate force, avoiding touching the tongue.

3. Insert the swab into the extraction tube, rotate it close to the inside of the test tube 10 times, break it at the breakpoint, leave the swab head in the tube, tighten the cap, and stay for 1 minute

5. Drop 4 drops from the vertical extraction tube to the sample hole of the kit, 15-20 minutes to read the results.

III. Result judgment

1. A red line appears on each of c and t on the reaction window, which means that the new crown antigen is positive,

2. Only a red line appears on c, which means that the new crown antigen is negative.

3. If there is no red line on c, it means failure, and re-testing

4. Waste disposal after testing

All wastes are put into airtight bags and sealed. Isolation personnel, whether negative or positive, should be handed over to the management staff as medical waste disposal, non-isolated personnel, negative results, as general waste disposal.
