A few days ago, the China Sleep Research Association and other institutions launched the “2022 White Paper on Chinese National Healthy Sleep”. The white paper shows that in March 2021, the Ministry of Education issued a “sleep order”, and in July of the same year, a “double reduction” policy was introduced. The data shows that after the sleep order + “double reduction” policy, 60% of primary and middle school students’ sleep time increased to varying degrees, of which the sleep time increased by more than 2 hours to 9.41%; the increase of 1 to 2 hours reached 21.66%; the increase of 0 to 2 hours 1 hour up to 28.88%. However, primary and secondary school students still lack sleep time. The Ministry of Education’s “Sleep Order” clearly requires primary school students, middle school students and high school students to sleep for 10 hours, 9 hours and 8 hours respectively. The survey shows that the average sleep time of the surveyed high school students is only 6.5 hours, the average sleep time of the surveyed junior high school students is 7.48 hours, and the average sleep time of primary school students is 7.65 hours.
Study pressure is less, who stole the child’s sleep?
The “White Paper” pointed out that over 60% of the surveyed teens use their sleep time to play mobile phones, play games and watch dramas. Only 27% of the teens surveyed compress their sleep time to do homework and study. The above-mentioned white paper pointed out that after the reduction of learning pressure, many students allocated their sleep time to electronic products and entertainment, and entertainment replaced learning pressure, which became the primary reason for teenagers to go to bed late.
