A few days ago, at the class reunion, during the toast, several classmates unanimously wished the elderly at home health and longevity!
There are more than 30 people in our class, and one of 6 parents was diagnosed with cancer, which is a very high rate. Two of them were lung cancer.
People look forward to the health of their parents when they are middle-aged. With parents, there is still a place for life!
The old monitor’s father had lung cancer. Because of the timely discovery, he went to the district hospital for lobectomy and lymph node dissection, and it was no problem.
To protect the elderly at home, we should pay attention to some early signs of lung cancer.
With the help of several cases today, we will focus on explaining the connection between chest and back pain and lung cancer, hoping to remind and help middle-aged friends.
The symptoms of lung cancer are varied, which are mainly related to tumor location, size, and surrounding involvement. The most common symptom is cough, which is mostly irritating Dry cough with occasional blood in sputum, in addition to chest tightness, chest pain, back pain, fatigue, weight loss, etc., often without specificity.
However, repeated back pain in the same area should be taken seriously!
We can see why by looking at two cases.
Case 1, right parapleural lung cancer
This is a middle-aged woman who has had back pain for 2 months because of intermittent coughing. Her pain is a little to the right of the middle of her back.
CT found lung cancer on the right side. The tumor was located under the pleura next to the spine. There are abundant nerves on the pleura, which caused pain when stimulated by the tumor. , Muffled pain, sometimes like a fork in the air.
Review 2.5 years after surgery
Fortunately, the discovery was relatively timely, the cancer cells did not spread, and surgery was performed in time.
The pathology is a poorly differentiated lung adenocarcinoma. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy was given after the operation. It has been almost three years and the recovery is very good!
Case 2, left interlobar parapleural lung cancer
This man is also considered a relatively lucky man. He was hospitalized because of kidney stones and blood in urine. During the ward round, he told the doctor that his left back was slightly stuffy, sometimes like a needle stick, and occasionally I also coughed a few times, do you want to check it together?
Results Chest CT examination revealed a mixed ground-glass nodule on the left, with an irregular shape, and the edge caused a retraction depression on the interlobar pleura.
He was later transferred to thoracic surgery for surgery, also with invasive lung adenocarcinoma.
These two cases remind everyone that lung cancer near the pleura can sometimes stretch and irritate the pleura, causing repeated chest and back pain in the same area, varying in severity, but in a fixed location
strong>, middle-aged and elderly people should pay attention to this symptom.
So, back pain in the same location must be lung cancer?
Not necessarily!
Many elderly people in rural areas worked hard when they were young, leaving back pain, back pain, and leg pain. In winter, they like to sleep on a hot kang. Now, it’s not lung cancer, don’t be afraid.
There are also some tuberculosis, pneumonia, etc. that can also cause back pain when the pleura irritates, usually with some other accompanying symptoms.
This is a middle-aged man with frequent cough and occasional fever. CT revealed an irregular nodule next to the right spine. The enhanced CT showed annular enhancement with some fluid in it. The enhancement of lung cancer is different.
However, after antibiotic treatment failed, he underwent surgical removal. The pathology was a bronchogenic cyst, a benign lesion, many of which were related to dysplasia.
This is a diabetic patient, whose blood sugar control is not ideal at ordinary times. He developed a lung infection and formed an inflammatory mass in the left lung, which stimulated the pleura and caused tightness and tingling in the chest and back.
Carefully recalls that he had intermittent fever and cough two months ago, and got better after taking some antipyretics and antibiotics.
This situation is not uncommon, especially in autumn and winter. Many patients with lung abscess have no obvious symptoms of infection, especially some diabetic patients (high blood sugar is prone to lung infection), Inflammation of the pleura can also cause back pain, requiring hospitalization for anti-inflammatory treatment.
Simple summary:
1. Middle-aged and elderly people should pay attention to regular physical examinations, especially chest CT, because lung cancer is the most common malignant tumor and can be cured at an early stage.
2. Adults have repeated back pain in the same part, pay attention! with or without other symptoms.
