The comprehensive team of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council decided to add antigen testing as a supplement to nucleic acid testing. Residents can purchase reagents for self-testing of novel coronavirus antigens.
Antigen detection is generally used in acute infection period, namely Sample testing within 7 days of the onset of symptoms in the suspected population. Both positive and negative antigen results of suspected populations should undergo further nucleic acid testing. Positive results can be used for early triage and rapid management of suspected populations, but cannot be used as the basis for the diagnosis of new coronavirus infection. The selected antigen detection reagents must be approved by the State Drug Administration.
