India finds first monkeypox death

According to the “Indian Express” report on July 31, a man diagnosed with monkeypox virus in Kerala, India died in hospital on July 30. The first monkeypox death detected.

According to the introduction of Veena George, Minister of Health of Kerala State, India, the man was only 22 years old and had no symptoms of monkeypox when he was sent to the hospital. A few days ago, he had just returned to India from the UAE, where he was diagnosed with monkeypox virus, but his family only handed in the test report on July 30. Local authorities will launch an investigation into the death.
