1. Insufficient residence time or excessive dose after injection: After insulin injection, the recovery process of the rubber piston will take a certain amount of time. At the same time, the needle is thinner, and the time it takes for the liquid to be injected into the body will be shorter. Prolonged, if the residence time is not enough, or the dose is too large, it is easy to cause insulin leakage with the needle, resulting in inaccurate injection dose and waste of liquid medicine.
2. If the needle is not removed in time after insulin injection: When the outside temperature changes (from cold to heat), droplets will leak from the tip of the needle.
4 Ways to Improve Insulin Leakage
1 .After injection, hold for at least 10 seconds before pulling out
Injecting insulin allows the needle to stay in the body for a period of time, at least 10 seconds. If the dose of insulin injected is relatively large, the dwell time will be extended to 20 seconds.
