So, is the cure rate of hepatitis B high? Data show that in the past 10 years, the clinical cure rate of hepatitis B can reach about 30% under the treatment plan based on nucleoside (acid) analogs and peginterferon alpha-2b. There is also some clinical evidence for the clinical cure of different hepatitis B virus-infected groups. For example, after 48 weeks of peginterferon treatment, the clinical cure rate of hepatitis B children aged 3-17 years is more than 50%, and inactive hepatitis B indicates that antigen carriers are expected to achieve a clinical cure rate of 47%.
The latest published abstract of the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver contains the 3.5-year phased data of the China Chronic Hepatitis B Clinical Cure (Mount Everest) Project. Data from a large sample showed that in patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with nucleoside (acid) analogs sequentially or in combination with peginterferon alfa-2b, the clearance rate of hepatitis B surface antigen reached 33.2% at 48 weeks, of which the baseline hepatitis B surface antigen was 33.2%. The clearance rate was 56.1% in patients with less than 100 IU/mL.
