Travel demand rebounds, EL AL resumes Boeing 777 operations

China Aviation News: According to Reuters, El Al said on July 24 that Boeing 777-200ER aircraft will return to fleet to meet summer travel needs.

El Al suspends all flights from March to September 2020, including Boeing 777s, due to a sharp drop in travel demand following the COVID-19 outbreak. El Al’s aging Boeing 747s have now been retired, and 15 747s have been replaced by 787s on long-haul routes to North America and Asia. It is reported that El Al has six Boeing 777 aircraft with an average age of nearly 20 years. This time, EL AL plans to use the 777s that return to service on popular tourist routes such as Bangkok, Phuket, Athens and Dubai.

Data shows that EL AL’s passenger numbers in June increased by 151% compared to June 2021.
