Beijing Medical Insurance Bureau responds to the recall of the supplementary list of drugs: the relevant drug adjustment only involves a certain dosage form of the same drug

CCTV News: Recently, some media reported that 141 kinds of drugs will be transferred out of Beijing Medical Insurance by the end of the year, including many commonly used drugs, such as ibuprofen, insulin, etc., which has aroused public attention.

Yesterday (July 20), the Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau responded that this adjustment only involves a certain dosage form of similar drugs, and drugs with the same therapeutic effect are still available in the medical insurance catalog.

According to the Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau, the non-national medical insurance drug list drugs that were transferred this time only deleted a certain dosage form of similar drugs. For example, amlodipine, which is commonly used in the treatment of hypertension, only amlodipine pills have been deleted in this adjustment, while the commonly used amlodipine tablets, amlodipine capsules, and amlodipine enteric-coated tablets are all in the medical insurance catalog. The painkiller ibuprofen only deletes ibuprofen gel, while ibuprofen cream, ibuprofen tablets, and ibuprofen sustained-release tablets are all in the medical insurance catalog. Insulin for the treatment of diabetes in the city’s medical insurance catalog is still covered by medical insurance.

This adjustment provides a 6-month transition period for medical institutions to adjust their commonly used drug catalogues to ensure that clinical medication is not affected by the above adjustments. The medical insurance fund can continue to pay during the transition period. The specific implementation time is December 2022. 31st.
