Fireflies are small beetles that can be divided into two categories, aquatic fireflies and terrestrial fireflies, fireflies The body size is relatively small, the body is flat, and the eyes are hemispherical. Generally speaking, the eyes of male fireflies are larger than those of female fireflies. Fireflies have phosphorous-containing luminescent substances and luminescent enzymes in their abdomens, and they appear in summer nights because they are in the courtship season.
Because there are more than 20 species of fireflies in the scenic area, accounting for about 15% of the national firefly species, the main species are There are many rare species and new species discovered in recent years, so this is also the largest firefly viewing base in Asia.
The best viewing spot for the entire Tiantai Mountain is in the woods near the Green Groove in Xiaojiawan, which is at an altitude of From the foot of the mountain about 800 meters to the Zhengtiantai about 1400 meters above sea level, there are all fireflies. As the night gets darker and darker, groups of fireflies are dancing in the forest like stars.

1. It is strictly forbidden to catch fireflies.
2. When viewing fireflies, remember to turn off the light source and watch in the dark. If you really need a flashlight and headlight to illuminate the road, please consciously cover the firefly with a red plastic bag or red cloth (red light has less interference with fireflies).
3. Please watch the fireflies quietly, do not make noise, do not walk around in the grass, so as not to disturb them.
