The Taipei Summer Travel Fair is an annual tourism promotion event in Taiwan, and this year is the seventh edition. Ren Jiayan, director of the Taipei Office of the Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association, introduced that this year’s cross-strait exhibition area is based on the theme of “Beautiful China – Journey to the Grand Canal”. Five selected areas, including LED multimedia display, Grand Canal photography exhibition, and Huaiyang cuisine , and will introduce the tourist attractions along the Grand Canal, the intangible cultural heritage and cultural customs on both sides of the canal through 23 promotion activities, showing the elegance of “water charm in Jiangsu, millennium canal”.

The Grand Canal, which winds for nearly 3,200 kilometers, spans 8 mainland provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, and connects five major river systems: Haihe, Yellow, Huaihe, Yangtze, and Qiantang Rivers. It was listed in June 2014. inscribed on the World Heritage List. In addition to promoting tourism on the Grand Canal, the exhibition areas on both sides of the strait also provide visitors with a wealth of mainland tourism information, including the introduction of tourist attractions in various provinces in mainland China, the theme booklet of world heritage tours, and the booklet of popular high-speed rail lines. The crowd flocked.

The Taipei Office of the Ocean Travel Association also invited travel agencies and travel magazines and other related organizations to participate in the exhibition, which is convenient for Taiwanese people to explain the “Internet Application” “Taiwan Compatriot Certificate” process, and introduce tourism products, promote Chinese culture, historical allusions, etc.

Summer is the peak tourist season in Taiwan. Taiwanese tourism companies also spare no effort to attract tourists at travel fairs, launching tourist products such as sightseeing bus tours, bicycle tours, and fishing village tours. Major hotels have also carried out profit-making promotions. In addition, there are international tourism exhibition areas such as the Philippines, India, and Germany.

This 4-day travel fair will feature nearly 600 booths from tourism departments and nearly 200 companies from 14 counties and cities in Taiwan.
