It is the dried root of Ranunculaceae plant Paeonia lactiflora or Sichuan red Paeonia lactiflora, excavated in spring and autumn, removed rhizomes, fibrous roots and sediment, dried and sliced ​​for medicine. Red peony is slightly fragrant, slightly bitter and sour in taste, and has the functions of clearing heat and cooling blood, dissipating blood stasis and relieving pain.
