The illustrated book describes the scientific names and aliases, medicinal parts, habitat distribution, harvesting and processing, functions and indications, usage and dosage. Wu Hezhen, dean of the School of Pharmacy, Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, wrote a preface that it “will provide important references for the development of the Chinese medicine resource industry in Macheng and the study of local Chinese medicine resources.” The publication of the book was supported by the Fourth National Traditional Chinese Medicine Resource Census Pilot Work Office, the Provincial Health Commission and other institutions.
