Yao Chen once played the role of Sheng Nan, a young female reporter who has a clear love and hatred and is self-reliant, but unfortunately suffers from “ovarian cancer” in the well-received film “Send Me to the Sky”.
After some twists and turns, Sheng Nan was freed from the predicament and realized what it means to live towards death.

As the film says: Everything has a cause and effect, and Sheng Nan’s illness is not something that happened out of nothing.
Ovarian cancer is the “number one” killer of female reproductive system malignancies, this film is a wake-up call for every Chinese woman…
1. Single for many years
When Sheng Nan was told by the doctor that she had ovarian cancer, she said in disbelief, “I haven’t had sex for several years…”

In fact, on the contrary, unmarried and childless are one of the risk factors for ovarian cancer.
Why? We all know that to cut out the lotus seeds from the lotus pod, do you have to cut the lotus skin?
Ovulation is also true. Ovulation once the epithelium is injured once, and then repaired. Repeat the cycle once a month, the more times, the more chance the gene mutation will cause cancer.
And during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the ovaries will stop ovulating, so you can take a good break to catch your breath, effectively reducing the chance of cancer. So unmarried people, should the DINK people think about it again?
How to do it right:
Marry and have children at the right age with someone you love, and continue to breastfeed.
2. Bad mood
My father cheated for 10 years, but my mother is still a “little princess” who needs to be coaxed.
The unhappiness at work and the misfortune at home put a lot of pressure on Sheng Nan. In the film, Sheng Nan said, “I have cancer, and I can’t laugh.” Li Lao replied, “Cause and cause are reversed. It is because you can’t laugh that you get cancer”…

There is not enough solid research evidence to support the relationship between emotions and cancer. However, a series of negative emotions such as depression, anger, helplessness, anxiety may inhibit the body’s immune system function, thereby weakening the body’s ability to fight tumors[1].
How to do it right:
Many professional women, like Sheng Nan, may face pressure from work, the elderly, children, husbands, etc. every day, and often forget to love themselves.
We should learn to find a way in life that suits us, is healthy and can relieve our stress, maybe a cup of tea, a novel or a piece of music, remember not to be alone Endure and accumulate those negative emotions in silence.
3. Smoking
Sheng Nan lit his cigarette from time to time, even after learning he had cancer…

In 2017, the Guangdong Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission and the Guangdong Provincial Health Education Center jointly reported information on the province’s tobacco control work, showing that in the past ten years, the smoking rate of women has increased rapidly from 0.69% to nearly 4 times, reaching 3.33%. %!
In 2001 GreenaGree et al [2] investigated 794 epithelial ovarian cancer patients in Australia and found that women with a history of smoking were more likely to develop ovarian cancer than women who had never smoked, And the longer you smoke, the greater the risk. “Smoke” is harmful to “people”, so quit now!
How to do it right:
Stay away from any cigarettes, first, second or third hand!
4. Drinking
Sheng Nan was drinking cup after cup at her nephew’s birthday banquet. No one in the family thought it was inappropriate, but one could imagine her usual alcohol intake. Tobacco and alcohol are often good partners for a coordinated crime.
Female friends who love to drink red wine for health/beauty, wake up! The World Health Organization has long listed alcohol as a Class I carcinogen. The research [3] published in the top academic journal “Nature” in 2018 also pierced the lie of drinking “health/cancer prevention”!
The MRC laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, confirmed that alcohol (ethanol) and its metabolite acetaldehyde, permanently alter DNA sequences. That is to say, the DNA damage caused by drinking is permanent, and this damage will accumulate, and it will take 20 years of abstinence to dissipate.
How to do it right:
Don’t drink alcohol, beer, or red wine!
5. High-intensity vigorous exercise
Sheng Nan’s name is doomed to her attributes as a female man. She never loses in fights, and the amount of daily exercise can be imagined.

Remember, nothing is too much. In 2004, Anderson JP et al. [4] found that moderate exercise reduces the risk of ovarian cancer, while strenuous exercise increases the risk of ovarian cancer.
Long-term strenuous exercise may alter the body’s hormone levels, leading to ovulation disorders, lowering estrogen, and increasing gonadotropin, which can increase the risk of ovarian cancer.
How to do it right:
Do moderate-intensity exercise for about 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. Moderate-intensity exercise is a state of exercise that can be recovered after 5-10 minutes of rest if you feel a little tired. For example, jogging, brisk walking, going up and down stairs, climbing, etc., continue to exercise for at least 10 minutes each time, and do it in groups. Don’t forget to warm up before exercise~
6. Irregular, Nutritious Diet
What did Sheng Nan eat in the video? They are fried rice cakes from street stalls, bread from supermarkets, and instant noodles soaked in boiling water…all of which are non-nutritious and high-calorie foods.

Now people don’t worry about not having food, they worry about eating healthy. Women who eat high-cholesterol foods are at increased risk of ovarian cancer, such as fried foods, fatty meats, organ meats, and creamy products. Conversely, women who ate vegetables and fruits, etc., had a lower risk of ovarian cancer.
In addition, in 2011, Wu Shiyu et al. [5] of Shanghai Ruijin Hospital found that drinking tea, especially green tea, can reduce the occurrence of ovarian cancer. Friends who love to drink might as well drink tea instead~
How to do it right:
Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables; eat less energy-dense foods that are high in sugar, fat, or low in fiber, such as sweet drinks, fatty meats, fried foods, etc.
Diet cooking methods suggest steaming, boiling or salad;
Avoid pickled or salt-processed foods, such as bacon, sausages, etc.
A friend will ask, Am I sure I won’t get sick if I guarantee a healthy lifestyle?
It can only be said that we have reduced the risk of disease within a controllable range. In reality, there are still some uncontrollable factors, such as family inheritance, environmental factors, other disease factors, etc.
Everyone may know that routine early screening for cervical cancer is available, but what about ovarian cancer?
1. Routine ovarian cancer screening is not supported for non-high-risk groups
Unfortunately,there is no satisfactory screening method for ovarian cancer. Therefore, routine ovarian cancer screening in non-high-risk women is also not supported. Because the current screening method has a high false positive rate, it will bring unnecessary panic to women, which will do more harm than good.
For women who are not at high risk for ovarian cancer, if we find heavy menstruation and irregular vaginal bleeding, especially if these symptoms appear suddenly or frequently, seek immediate medical attention Medical check-up.
2. Genetic testing for high-risk groups
The “Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Ovarian Malignancies (Fourth Edition)” released in 2018 mentioned that the incidence of ovarian cancer in the general population is very low, but BRCA1 People with mutations in the /2 gene have a significantly increased risk [6].
BRCA1/2 are also susceptibility genes for breast cancer. Therefore, it is recommended that the following high-risk groups can undergo genetic testing first, and doctors should evaluate whether regular screening is necessary:
Women who have a close relative with breast, ovarian, or other related cancers;
women with BRCA1/2 mutations in close relatives;
Premenopausal women with breast cancer;
Several related tumors at the same time, such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer;
Women with male breast cancer in their families;
Women with Lynch syndrome, dark spot polyposis syndrome, family history of ovarian cancer-related hereditary tumors, or women with these conditions themselves.
PS: Genetic testing has a very good guiding role in the treatment of ovarian cancer patients, and is currently a key technology for the diagnosis and treatment of genetically predisposed diseases.
Ovarian cancer screening method: At present, the most commonly used method is tumor marker serum (CA125, HE) combined with vaginal ultrasonography, but The value of its monitoring remains to be verified.
Therefore, women at high risk of ovarian cancer should follow the doctor’s follow-up arrangement and should not have too much psychological burden.
Women with BRCA1/2 mutations should discuss with their doctor whether to undergo preventive tubal and oophorectomy at age 35-40 or after giving birth.
Women with Lynch syndrome, polyposis melanogaster syndrome-related gene mutations, according to factors such as fertility, menopause, comorbidities, family history, etc., doctors Comprehensive consideration of whether to remove bilateral fallopian tubes, ovaries and uterus.
Oral contraceptives reduce the risk of ovarian cancer, but there is controversy about an increased risk of breast cancer. Therefore, oral contraceptives to prevent ovarian cancer are more suitable for women with BRCA mutations who have undergone preventive breast removal.
Thanks to Yao Chen for this film, which not only explores the soul and life, but also allows us to examine our own lives. In our long life, there will be many choices, and different choices will lead to different endings. Cancer is only one of thousands of endings. I hope this article can guide you to make healthy choices. Share with your sisters!
