Traditional Chinese medicine dispensing is also one of the necessary professional skills for students majoring in Chinese pharmacy, mainly including the examination of prescriptions and the preparation of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions. In this skill competition, students must first identify the medicinal materials, perform a “grab” operation, and adjust the single dose and total dose.
In the test content of traditional Chinese medicine processing, students use different processing methods to process different medicinal materials. The processing methods for the main assessment are: Stir-frying, bran frying, sand blanching, vinegar burning, wine burning, salt burning, honey burning, the assessment method used in the test is that the two medicinal materials are cooked within the specified time using the correct processing method. The processed medicinal materials can not only be better used as medicine, the active ingredients are easier to be decocted, the medicinal effect is significantly improved, and it is easier to preserve. It is reported that traditional Chinese medicine processing technology is my country’s intangible cultural heritage. In order to inherit this skill, the Chinese Medicine Health Association specially launched these skills competitions.

Among them, Xie Xinyuan, a member of the association, won the first prize in the traditional Chinese medicine competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition in 2019. In addition, the members of the association have won the first prize in the traditional Chinese medicine skills competition of Hunan Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) for three consecutive years.
