Why are women more prone to osteoporosis than men?
Fractures are so “preferred” “What about female friends?
Let’s see what the experts say~
↓↓↓
Clinical, female The incidence of osteoporosis is indeed higher than that of men, so the majority of female friends should pay more attention to the disease of osteoporosis!
In clinical work, Female patients often ask me that several women of the same age as me in the community have osteoporosis, but men of the same age do not have this problem. What is the reason for this? This is because women’s puberty development and epiphysis closure are earlier than men’s, and their body weight and muscle mass are mostly lower than men’s, and the stress stimulation to bones is weaker. Therefore, women’s bone density, especially peak bone mass, is lower than that of men. This is one of the reasons; secondly, with the increase of age, people have bone loss in middle and old age, but the factors that cause bone loss in men and women are different, and the degree of bone loss is also different. Generally speaking, the main factors of bone loss in men are the aging of body cells and organs, functional failure, etc. This process is slow, so there is no rapid bone loss period. After women enter menopause, the level of estrogen in the body decreases significantly, and bone mass is also rapidly lost. Women’s menopause declines rapidly with estrogen, resulting in a much higher rate of bone loss than men.
Osteoporosis in women is due to these two reasons. The incidence is much higher than that of men, 2 to 8 times that of male patients. Therefore, women should identify and prevent the occurrence and development of osteoporosis at an early stage after menopause.
